    :patsch

Weight had ALOT to do with it, getting down to 147, then trying to rehydrate up but only adding 2 pounds. Many weighed alot more than Oscar on that night in question.

Freddie even said himself that he could see marks on Oscars arm where they tried to rehydrate him so he told Manny in the corner to pounce on him

You ****ing clowns really don't remember ****, do you? When negotiations were going on for this fight, the media was asking Oscar how he could make 147 again. Oscar was telling everyone that he was already in the low 150's, during negotiations.

He wasn't dehydrated, there was no rehydration clause, the dumb**** just mismanaged his weight. he obviously felt that if he kept at a lighter weight, he'd be quicker.

Oct. 2008, DLH is already at 152 pounds:

Only a fanboy would try to claim pac beat anything other than a washed up drained DLH.

Would you consider Teddy Atlas a Pacquiao fan?

This is crazy. Before the Oscar fight Pac's highest weight class was 135. Oscar made Pac move up 2 weight divisions to 147 to fight him. Oscar was fighting around 154...So, in the interest of fairness he dropped 1 division to 147.
So Pac goes up 2 divisions, and Oscar down 1! Doesn't seem fair to Pac if you ask me...
Of course DLH was the cash cow (much like Pac is now) and he makes the rules for his opponents, and they either A) Accept or B) Don't, and fight for peanuts.

I just think he rehydrated after the HBO weigh-in, hence the fresh IV marks on him arm

Pac had only fought once above super featherweight, in his lightweight fight against Diaz. then he moves up all the way to Welterweight. Oscar had just fought Forbes at 150 after losing a split decision against Floyd at 154 and dropped 3 more pounds down from 150 to 147.

Was Oscar drained? Yes. Did Pacquiao put on a masterpiece performance? yes.

Oscar came down from 150, not 154. 3 pounds for Oscar, 12 pounds for Manny.

What bothers me is how Oscar's weight was only 147 on fight night. From 145 on the scales to 147 on fight night.

After the fight they were saying Oscar may have not even made 147 on fight night.

He was weighed on fight night with all his clothes on and sneakers.

Oscars prime was 1998ish. End of story.

Weight issues are often massively overstated on ESB by people trying to make slightly dubious points, but in terms of this fight, weight was a massive factor. Pac put on a great performance, perfect strategy, I don't think Oscar was with it mentally, but he definetly wasn't right physically, dude was half dead.

Disagree slightly. Physically maybe he was at his strongest around '98. But he was a better, more complete fighter around the time of the Vargas fight a few years later.

+1, Oscar's choice of opponent backfired on him.

    Agree.

I think Oscar coming into the fight lighter than a guy who just came up from lightweight having one fight there, and having to be surgically rehydrated right before the fight says it all.
