Shouldn't the ref have wiped B-Hop's gloves after he did pushups on the canvas?

Yes, but the ref was likely caught up in the moment and just didn't think about it.

I was certainly more concerned with his inability to break the clinches and the fact that he ruled two KD's as slips.

    I thought about that.
It was all a tactic from Hops to get his gloves nice and dirty then get the dirt in Pascals eye to **** with his vision....

No but yeah he definitely should have wiped them off. And counted those damn knockdowns. He was a terrible ref

Was amazed, with Pascal's flagrant rabbit punches, that the ref NEVER warned him.

Yeah, his failure to call those KDs correctly was a far more significant oversight!

Yeah that was bugging me too, I can see if Pascal snuck them in away from the ref, but he did it over and over again directly in front of the ref. Again he was just ****ing terrible

Ian John-Lewis just did a sub-par job on Saturday.

Wiping the gloves got me to thinking. Anyone know when boxers stopped rubbing their shoes in a rosin box in their corner before a fight?

From what I understand, it's par for the course with that guy.

Not wiping off the gloves bothered me, as well, but - at that moment - the ref had very little control of the ring. The way he broke the action to listen to Pascal's complaints, but let Pascal bull-rush when the ref was talking to Hopkins, boggled me.

We've all seen worse refereeing on each of the points this ref performed badly on, but it's not often that one screws up on that many fronts, all at once.

He's a fairly contraversial figure in the UK. Mainly for his judging. Its even worse than his reffing.
