Roy Jones should've fought Mike Tyson after he defeated Ruiz. Tarver showed up at the post Ruiz press conference and baited Roy into a fight. He wanted to shut Tarvers mouth. If Roy was smart he would've made Tarver fight at a catchweight of 185lbs., or he shouldn't have fought him. Roy had all of the negotiating advantages and didn't use any of them.

Could not agree more...Montel Griffin also rocked Jones hard with many power shots in their first fight.

He had around 50 fights before Tarver put him out on his ass in their 2nd fight.

If you truly watched most of his fights, you realize that in some of them, at some point he was tagged with solid shots, including against John Ruiz, a heavyweight that had already put Holyfield on his ass in the past.

Nobody will ever be saying that Jones has a tough chin but simpletons tend to disregard important factors all the time...

1- Jones decided to bulk up in muscles by close to 20 pounds in less than a year at the age of 34. He then decides to lose those muscles in around 6 months time to fight Tarver. I don't expect you to be knowledgeable in regards to physical matters, but at close to 35, it's simply a killer for the human body. He didn't lose water or fat, it was mainly muscle. It's too much of a shock at that age.

2- Tarver nailed him with a great shot and in sports, physicians and doctors are very aware that once you get your first concussion, you automatically become prone to more of them, more easily. Knock outs are often the equivalence to concussions, whether they are mild or not. Therefore, at 35 years old, he had an old body stamina wise and then he gets tagged solidly.

It was evident that he would become more and more fragile to being rocked on a regular basis as he continued to age, continued to lose his legs and stamina, always while taking into account that his punch resistance was diminished by the first concussion...

Age and loss of stamina diminishes punch resistance. Combine that with getting a first concussion....and then the future is quite predictable.

10 years ago his chin was never busted. Ruiz hit him clean and never hurt him let alone knock him down. Ruiz hits a lot harder than calacrappy. Calazaghe is nobody. He would have been dominated by James Toney, Hopkins, and RJ had he been around during their primes. in 10 years, you'll still here Roy's name throughout boxing. Calacrappy will be long forgotten because he was nothing special.

Point is Roy's chin used to withstand hard shots until he shrunk back down in weight. Then anything and everything started putting him on his ass -- except calacrappy.

Watch the Reggie Johnson and Toney fights ..Toney looked like he punched through him at times he was hit clean but his punch resistance was much stronger then ..
