I've heard many people suggest Groves should rematch DeGale when they are both World Champions. Simple question. Do people really believe Groves is a future world champion? Can he really move on to bigger and better things and expect to have success?

I doubt his chin will hold up against world level bangers.

    They both could.

I honestly wouldn't be surprised if neither did, however.

If a rematch is hinged on them both becoming world champions, I'd say the chances of seeing one are fairly slim.

Because I thought he lost to DeGale despite performing to the best of his abilities. Likewise, it was Groves who looked close to folding in the later rounds, not his opponent. I don't think he can fight anyone better than James DeGale and expect to win. I don't see a world level operator in Groves.

On 5 Live a few times Costello said he was shaken by punches. Is this true? was he visbly hurt or buzzed or was Costello wrong? (Still ain't seen fight...don't think i want to )

If he was then i personally think he won't hold up to much against more crisper punches at 168lbs but tbh it's unfair for me to call this.

Before the bout i would of said no...but what **** do i know...:deal

go and watch hatton, calzaghe, froch, burns, gavin rees. watch the 10th, 11th and 12th fights and then explain how they became world champions and Groves cant?

Honestly I think it will be hard for him. Degale is a great win for him but I really think he needs to go through a fair few domestic level fighters before he steps up to a Euro level but it being Hayemaker its hard to tell how they will match him and it will most likely be tough.

That said he is young and showed signs of improvement under Booth but he has an average to below average chin which doesnt bode well for somebody who is probably at his best when slugging it out.

I can certainly see him getting a world title shot at some point that said I can also see him picking up losses when he starts stepping up. If he wins his shot depends on who he faces and how he has developed in the meantime.

He can beat someone like Stieglitz, I can't see him hanging with the real top guys in the division but who knows how much he'll improve. I'd still be willing to bet money that DeGale has the better career.

the only time he was trully hurt he was from a headbutt. if you fight on the back foot when you do take a punch it looks worse. i think balance is more the issue for groves then chin.

worse fighters than geroge groves is at this very moment have been world champions. so of course groves can become one.
