Danny Green: Forget Lebedev, I Wants Bernard Hopkins!

There is a lot of money in Australia. Every Aus Dollar is worth $1-05/10 US depending on the day exchange rate. Why do you think Hopkins went to Canada ? Money. Hopkins can't get his family to come to his fights in the USA but the ppv and crowd would be huge in Australia.

Bottom line: Green should not be looking past Tarver and assuming he'll still be in the mix for big match-ups like BHop as of July 21st.

 

Tarver was never great, but was pretty solid. Same with Green.

I know Green gets a lot of crazy hate from Americans since he beat up on RJJ - but he is a decent cruiserweight. I don't think the Tarver fight is an easy one to call either way. Both solid, if unspectacular fighters, both getting old.

But it's been three years since Tarver beat anyone with a pulse. Danny recently beat BJ Flores. Plus Danny will have the home ground advantage and is just a bit younger.

As to Hopkins? Well, Green brings a lot of money to the table. Last time they were looking at negotiations, I think Green was offering twice what anyone else was offering. Hopkins wasn't interested at all though.

Still, the money has to be tempting. If Hopkins does take Green up on it (assuming Green gets past Tarver) then I think Danny needs to keep in mind "Be careful what you wish for..."

 

IB, like a lot of America, has serious hate issues since Green took out RJJ.

It's like how Freddy-Wak hates Kostya Tszyu for beating up an old JCC. It isn't rational, but then boxing fans aren't always rational at the best of times.

 

yet it was bigmouth bernard who clearly stated he only fights for money and whoever offers the most, he'll likely accept that fight. but hopkins was offered TWICE the money he could get by fighting anybody else yet **** his pants and didn't accept greens offer.

My dislike of Green is due to Dannyweight and being a cherry picking fraud. That was a nice guess as to my motives, but it kind of blew up in your face what with me not even being a Jones fan. Better luck next time.

He would have had to go up there and probably stay up there. Apart from a big money fight with Green, what else is there for him at cruiser?
