    pipe down hero!!

    green would pummel the russian.

green vs hopkins would be a big fight and is bernards biggest payday more than likely, meaning there is plenty of interest in such a fight. some people just don't want to accept this fact. most of u would even watch it, though u might not admit it on here, lol.

Tarver will leave his career in Australia! Tarver just needs to check his wraps.

Pull your own head in, ****.

Green is old and not taking on the toughest challenges. He wants some big names and big paydays before he retires. That isn't exactly news. It also isn't exactly a new thing in boxing or a bad thing. Guys are risking their health and their last couple of fights might be the thing that actually sets them up for the rest of their life.
It's not like he has spent his whole career trying to take the easy way. He paid his dues.

But apparently Hopkins, who is now back on everyone's P4P lists, is an easy fight that he is cherrypicking?

The hate for Green, the weird conspiracy theories, it's just ****ing mindblowing. He just beat an undefeated up and comer. Who does he have to fight, in his last couple of fights, to get a break? A Klitschko?

If he wants to get some cash with some big names before he retires then good on him, and anyone who doesn't like it is just a ****.

i suggest you go to boxrec and check the previous 4 opponents BJ fought before he fought Green.the best was ranked 60 something.and Green still made him come in
lighter than he had fought before.he was undefeated but
no up and comer.he hadnt fought for 15 months but i guess he was more active than Briggs.

I don't have anything against Danny Green and certainly cannot blame him for trying to land a fight with Hopkins. Unfortunately for him, it just doesn't make that much sense for Hopkins at this point. However, if he beats Tarver, the idea is to get him even more name recognition stateside and it will only help his cause.

I wouldn't call BJ Flores an "unbeaten up and comer" though, although it was a solid performance. BJ Flores hadn't fought in over a year and when he did fight it was against a blown up supper middleweight in Epfianio Mendoza (total mismatch) and people have wondered if Flores really gives a damn for a while.

Regarding conspiracy theories, though I don't subscribe to them, it doesn't help when unfortunate things like this happen:

I have no problems with people that talk legitimately about Green. His best years are behind him, and I think he has no interest in trying to fight his way to the top now.

That's all fair and rational. You can form opinions and have reasonable discussions. No dramas.

But the seething rage that some people post here is just bizarre. Like, you have to question their mental stability. Reality is out the window. I'd hate to see inside their heads, I don't think it would be a nice place!

This strikes you as "seething rage"?

    Really?

That was my only post on the topic before you began to single me out to target with your preposterous "insane Americans with hateful agendas" campaign.

    Wow. How seething. How rage-filled.

So, you are saying this is the first time you have ever posted your negative opinions on Danny Green here? No? So I might have read some before? Yeah?

Then you continued in the same vein, after I singled you out, proving my point.

    Kinda dopey, aren't you?

You aren't the worse I have seen. That's true enough. Doesn't mean that you aren't an irrational hater jumping on a bandwagon of irrational hate.

Most of the critics of Green outside of the Aussie forum are US posters.

I think it's based on the Toney sparring session - the yanks seem to think Toney deserves instant respect just because he's a fat cheating **** - and Green KOing RJJ.

RJJ's antics and complaints after the fight - illegal wraps, illegal punches, and the ref stopped the fight too soon (hardly, given the fact that RJJ was out cold on his feet vs Lebedev :hey) caused me to lose a lot of respect for RJJ.

Hopkins' "white boy" and "Australia is in Europe" comments caused me to lose a lot of respect for him too.

They should get it on, I'd love to see Green smash B-Hops ugly grill inside out and put him on his skinny black arse :yep

Yeah, I've been a Green skeptic for as long as he's been on my radar and my comments in this thread weren't the first negative ones made about him by me on ESB.

You still (wrongly) presumed based on whichever of those comments you'd previously read that the reason behind them was some kind of bitter agenda born out of being a Jones fan.

You were wrong about that. I'm pretty ambivalent toward Jones outside acknowledging his talent, and my post history on him reflects that.

So your credibility kinda sucks, doesn't it? You've kind of been exposed as someone who makes ridiculous mental leaps to fill in the blanks and ASSUMES falsehoods to conveniently piece together your ideal of how things are, haven't you?

You were wrong about that, so don't ya think maybe just maybe you could be wrong about my dislike of Green being about "bandwagon trendiness" or "irrational hate", and might actually have to do with the given reasons? Hmm...

Could it be that YOU are a sensitive nuthugger who can't handle anyone else not being a fan of someone that you're a fan of, and need to lash out and brand people as irrational haters just because they speak critically of your man-crush? ;)

    Wrong guess.

I haven't even watched most of Green's latest fights. I have no plans to watch the Tarver fight. Green wouldn't be in my top ten fave fighters list. I used to watch his fights many years ago - but since his 'comeback' I have had no faith in his ability and have known that he never knows which fight will be his last. I know he is trying to make hay while the sun is shining, and I don't blame him for that, but it doesn't make for great viewing.

I am hardly a diehard fan.

What I don't like is seeing the absolute hatred and insane conspiracy theories about him. He's a decent bloke just trying to make some money before retiring.

If you say you haven't jumped onto the bandwagon then fine, whatever. Maybe you have nobly stood aside from the frothing masses. Maybe you have been swayed by them without knowing. The fact is that barely anyone was on this bandwagon until the RJJ fight. Then all of a sudden it is international hatred and conspiracy theories - genuine lunacy. How can I respect that, or not speak against it?

Yeah because you're making a ton of sense. The only thing you are saying is "oh the american hate Green cause he beat RJJ" you arent claiming he did anything great where he deserves respect and you arent defending his recent body of work either so clearly you know its ****.
