Hopkins of course tops the "Almost" All Time Great list below.

This is how I rank them:

    1. Hopkins--- but i criticize him for cherrypicking half of his 20 defenses.
    2. Roy Jones--- but he cherrypicked 75% of his fights in his prime before facing Ruiz.
    3. Julio Chavez Sr.--- faced the best but limited in skills
    4. Sweet Pea--- The quality of opposition made him half baked an ATG
    5. Floyd Mayweather--- The quality of opposition makes him quarter-baked.:rofl

    Awful thread. Chavez limited skills?

Just because he wasn't what you would call 'slick' doesn't mean he didn't have skill.

Hopkins is one of the best fighters to grace a ring. Intelligence, skill, deceptive power, charisma, and a list of who's who opposition win or lose. He's never been truly dominated and can argue 3 of 5 career losses. Anyone who disagrees is completely clueless.

you mean me? why am I clueless if I consider hopkins, jones, pea, floyd atg's?
the only way they are not is if you have really high standards for who gets in the selective group of atg's, even then whitaker and hopkins are legendary.
