Roy was just a freak back then...switching stances, hands down, awkward punches....he could get away with so much in his prime.

I think that was Hopkins best round in their 1993 fight.

It definitely was. There wasn't a lot of action in that fight, but it's interesting to watch now in hindsight.

Hopkins definitely pressured Roy and bothered him with his aggression, but Bernard was in obvious awe of Roy's handspeed. He just wouldn't let his hands go until it was obvious Roy was coasting.

Looking at that video, I can see why those guys avoided Calzaghe for so long

 Calfaggi made his pro debut in 1993 while Roy and Hopkins were already at the world level, he didnt fight anyone with a winning record until 1995. Calfaggi waited until they were ancient and still got dropped twice

Jones got dropped by Del Valle and Hopkins by Hakkar, so what KDs happen, it doesnt mean they happen in every fight and remember its when you get up that counts and thats where Calzaghe pwned Hopkins and Jones and travelled to do it, also it took Hopkins alot longer to win a world title than Calzaghe and Jones who did it around the same sort of time, the only difference is that Calzaghe beat a more formidable fighter at that time
