Maybe he would adapt, to be fair. Just my opinion really dat he won the seniors mainly by having an extremely tight defence and trying to go ahead and just running then wit a one or two point lead. Popular tactic dis year, remember many were complaining bout it at the time. Just don't think it wud work in the pros

If there was a third (if not mcdonagh) then maybe it wud be mark o hara? But by the looks of it above he will be the third aside from Joyce and Donovan

Nope, Walsh has his mind made up. Maybe he's (Brabazon) not been training, he gave it full gun for the Seniors and maybe stepped off the gas when he lost. I don't know. Great tear-up between him and Nolan in that final as well.

Excuses, Revisionism and Jealousy, the crutches of immaturity.

As Oscar Wilde once said "We're all in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the stars."

I don't know about you but I'm tierd of looking at the ground

ya i saw him post that he had em but I know Spikes getting his own batch so id rather put my money in Spikes pocket. Thats not a dig at the Hylands by the way, just id be going up to support Spike so better to buy em off him. plus id probably feel safer with the Cork crowd considering the Dublin/Cork tension floating round here at the minute :)

McDonagh cam from behind against DO, I'm sure and actually outpunched Joyce at his own game, at least that's the way I seen it. Donovan had been going the best of all and a lot of people thought him unlucky v McDonagh. I think DO is the better international campaigner but I dont expect teams to be picked on my gut feeling, McDonagh won one of the most difficult tourneys in Europe and deserves both his chance and the international experience, he has not set the world on fire since the championship but he has not been outclassed either. 69 is different with Nolan out and I think Sheehan is very lucky to be included, he has got numerous chances to get back where he was, one of the best in Europe. I fancy McLoughlin here.

Ya he was impressive in the final, it was nothing like the 2-1 he beat Donoval by in the semis. But still when he finally did go ahead against DO he became very negative. Im not saying I wouldn't do the same if it meant i could win an Irish Senior title though
He showed in those few minutes when coming from behind against Joyce that he has real ability. Not many 17 year olds could have done the same. But in general throughout the championships the main feature of his style was his very tight defence (few would disagree). I believe that someone who bases most of their fighting style on this could find it hard to adapt in the pros.
He may never go pro, but initially i was just saying that it might not be a good idea to get on the iaba's bad side. I doubt he would have promoters begging him like they would do to so many other Irish champions in the past and present (again, mainly because of his style).
But I believe he deserves his international shot too! However, if he's denied it then i think court action may be the wrong route.
