i think the key there is "the wba did not sanction the bout". by taking that fight after pulling out 3 times of facing his mandatory/interim titlist he was effectively vacting the title.

& whatever, man. valuev was considered the "proper" wba champion after his fight with ruiz. chagaev had pulled out of 2 fights with valuev & a fight with ibragimov. when the fight with valuev didn't happen again he was always gonna lose his claim to the title. & don't forget; what he lost was the "champion in recess" thing he got after pulling out of facing valuev a 2nd time so that valuev could get the title match he was due. it's the same thing kessler has now with the wbc...so don't act like the wba are the only ones to do this.

tbh all this alphabet soup **** is bollocks. it's confusing as **** & it alienates casual fans. but people are acting like the wba just stripped chagaev to stop wlad getting the title. that's not what happened at all. there was no conspiracy. the writing had been on the wall for ages.

oh...& it had **** all to do with a vaccination btw. he didn't meet the requirements of finnish law allowing him to box in that country.

They should give it to the winner of Ruiz-Holyfield IV.

Chagaev have the heart to step in until Haye was infured and Valuev refuses to fgith Wlad.

So Wlad is the WBA Champ after beating Chagaev.

    It is typical WBA behavior.

But the winner of the fight Wlad vs. Haye deserves to be called Superchamp of the WBA.

But since Vitali beat Peter it's not the WBA. that's why It was a Ruiz, Valuev (co promoted by King), Haye (co promoted by King), circle jerk for so long and why they didn't want Ruslan in the mix.

    Correct. :good

Injuries happen, the Interm belt was simply a prommisary note denoting that Valuev was # 1 challenger and got first crack at the title. Valuev then pulled out of his WBA "unification" fight with Chagaev that the poster above mentioned.

Right, Wladimir is already the WBA champ. He beat Chagaev, and Chagaev was the true WBA champion not Valuev.
Haye is a champion in name only.

nah...they didn't sanction it cos they'd already made their mind up they were going to demote chagaev. & tbh those don king conspiracies are bull****.

& valuev didn't pull out of any fight with chagaev.

& to get back to what the thread was about...the reason that it won't happen this time is that the wba have sanctioned the unification...oh & haye hasn't pulled out of facing his mando several times...& there is no-one else with a claim on the title this time either.

so if wlad wins; he WILL become wba champion. which many would argue he already deserves to be...& i wouldn't neccessarily argue. but the reason is isn't is nothing sinister...there is no don king conspiracy to keep the belt away from him. in fact; i've always thought that chagaev was so keen to take the wlad fight cos he knew he was about to be stripped of his title...but i have no evidence of that; it is merely opinon & supposition.

I think the two reasons that people suspect that something will happen is that it will be over a year from when Haye fought a mandatory, and the aforementioned theories about bad blood between WBA promoters and the Klits.

However, I was under the impression that everything had been sorted out. The WBA have sanctioned the bout - that's about all I needed to know. Even a boxing organisation as arbitrary as the WBA wouldn't do that if there was a plan to strip Haye.

Chagaev was rightly stripped. Anyone who has a physical condition meaning they can't fight in certain countries should not be a "world" champion. Germany may have sanctioned him to fight there but that's Germany. Chagaev wasn't allowed to fight in Finland, Britain and likely wouldn't have been allowed in the majority of American states. The list of countries who would have sanctioned of his fights is a who's who of corrupt boxing nations and those too inept to know what they are dealing with.

thats pretty much how it should have happened yes. wlad will soon get it now anyway, he just literally should already have it imo.

Wrong. He WAS allowed to fight in Finland provided that Valuev took a simple vaccination that many people in modern nations receive at birth. Valuev the coward refused 2 fights because he knew he'd get his ass beat again.

Calling Germany a corrupt nation is just ridiculous, they are the heart of the EU and the possibly the biggest boxing market in EU also.
