I dont doubt what your saying, but some on here acting like SRR is gonna do a Mosley on Floyd:yep. Floyd fought Molasses Shane Mosley hes never stepped in the ring with no Sugar. He did struggle with Oscars jab. Your right, Floyd was smiling, he always does when hes nervous, but Floyd Sr wasnt. He thought he lost !
I like how a thread about a guy whose last fight was decades ago starts steering towards the direction of Floyd Mayweather.atsch
on his best night he beats anybody on there best night. i mean maybe and old mid thirties version of robinson gets beat but by only some of the all time greats.
If he's overrated, it's not by much. Hard to even BE overrated when you're the concensus best in history, in fact. He was a big strong welter with a concrete chin, massive power, could slug, could box like a dream, very very fast with excellent footwork and combination punching and could knock you clean the **** out going backwards. SRR is champ in any era. His only real rival for the top spot is a young Ali, who was next to unhittable and damn near unhurtable even if lightning struck and you got in a good shot on him. That said, of course Mayweather, Hearns, SRL, ODLH, Trini etc give him a good fight, even at WW. Those guys can fight on nearly even terms with any human being that ever walked the planet at their best weight. Thinking that an ATG fighter is going to get blown out like he's nothing, even by another and even better ATG is ****ing ******ed but unfortunately very common on ESB. See the Norris v. Hearns thread.
ya Sugar Ray Robinson, ALi, Tyson, Oscar, Floyd Jr, etc. All nice looking guys. THen you have emmanuel's ugly AZZ parading around with his face fake claiming that he's the face.atsch
Even a grown married man with children wanted to wrap his arms around Sexy Sergio. This content is protected
fighters that fought an OLD SRR reacted to his punches like gun shot wounds. name another fighter with that power in both hands and that speed, footwork, timing, chin, ring iq, ect. dude was, is, and will always be Tha Truth!
If Floyd fought Robinson in his absolute prime it would be a great fight. I don't care what anyone says. Floyd was in his absolute prime from Baldomir on down. I believe Robinson would win but it would be competitive.
This talk of Robinson being overrated is crap. Pretty much the only big name he didn't fight was Burley. Guy beat Zivic, Lamotta, Basillio, Fullmer, Graziano, Gavilan, Angott, Armstrong and 1000 other nobodies, journeymen and b listers.
Britain is a country, not a skin colour. They also have black people living there and fighting out of there.
