Danny Green: Forget Lebedev, I Wants Bernard Hopkins!

I dont think its the amount its the breakdown . Does danny deserve to get the same huge amount as hopkins ?
Bhop probably looked at the figures and said **** me I deserve more than green no matter how much the offer is ... Im the one bringing this amount of revenue to the event.

Also why doesn't green offer to fight for BHop's legit title's?

 

Wasn't a 60/40 split demanded by RJJ 10 years ago the reason why Hopkins refused to rematch him then?

As far as I know Green asked for the Australian PPV revenue, I'm not sure of the other details.

The fact remains though that Green brings more $$$ than any other opponent out there for Hopkins just now.

 

Hopkins was going to make half as much elsewhere. That's because Danny was bringing so much money to the table. If it was Hopkins bringing the money, then 50/50 wouldn't be fair. Jones and Tarver didn't agree to fight Green because of his name recognition - they did it because Green brings big money.

I'd imagine that is because of two reasons.

1) Danny has been plagued with health problems. He has only gained any sort of form again after putting on weight. He might not want to go down to LHW anymore.

2) All fighters want to fight at their most comfortable weight. If they can negotiate that in their contract then they do (assuming they are fighting someone from a different division). Fighting at your optimum weight is fairly normal, that is why fighters gain prestige by fighting and winning in multiple weight classes.
I have no problem with Hopkins not wanting to fight at cruiser, or Green not wanting to fight at LHW. That's a no blame reason for a fight not happening. Fighters have no obligation to swap out of their weight class.

 

clearly green thinks hopkins is being greedy, which is true, so green was happy enough to say f u, go fight someone else for half or less, as u know is what has now happened. so be it, but it is clear hopkins didn't really want the fight in the end.

and fight for b-hops title's? green obviously feels its difficult to get to light heavy at this stage otherwise he would have.

 

green just wants to earn big bucks! i understand!

 

Hopkins wont go anywhere near Green - a pressure fighter who can bang.

The last thing a 46 yr old Hopkins wants to do at this stage of his career
is be stuck in there with Danny Green.

 

not to mention that green would have little fear of popkins power.

 

If nobody wants to come to Australia how did he get RJJ and Tarver to have their first fights every outside of the U.S downunder?

So he took the easy option and fought for a legit title against a legit champ for less money.:yep IMO its very sad that the legit title's now make less money than blown up make believe title's paid for by uneducated part time boxing fans.

 

this is a low reward high risk fight for hopkins. green can punch...

 

F--k off turd, does Green not deserve a payday like the greedy cherry pickers out there? He has never ducked anyone and a fight with Hopkins would be a reward for his boxing career. Hopkins wouldnt take the fight anyway, he probably sees it as too high a risk for little reward.

Im sure if the Hopkins fight falls through Green will fight Lebvedev if that is what is deemed best for him, but he is definitely not scared of Denis.

 

Steve cunninham or troy Ross have both called out green he has actually only fought one cruiser in BJ flores and he came in @ a agreed dannyweight.

 

he came in at about 195 if i remember correctly thats what most cruisers weigh in at :think and green has steadily increased his weight and his opponents weight since the comeback, this probably due to him staggering the weight gain over a long period of time instead of throwing it all on at once, so as to adjust his power and speed appropriately. The only cruiserweight i see who would beat green is cunningham personally.

 

Yep - The BJ fight was the closest to the Cruiserweight limit he's fought.

He boxed a lot in that fight.

 

it was a big surprise to me , i always knew he could box but didnt think he was that disciplined, i do think he has under rated boxing skills.
