spot on. hatton went from one extreme to another. if your in amazing physical condition you can stay in that kind of shape for a few months if your living a normal healthy life style with a decent amount of exercise.

  3. Why not?

Is this 167 the weight he was walking around at 2 weeks ago? Or was it a weigh in rehersal where he has tried to make weight?

If it's the first one then he could easy make 160.

Calderon doesn't do much dehydrating/rehydrating but came up against Segura who really struggles to get down to 108 and looked about 2 weight divisions bigger than him in the ring.

Does anyone know Paul Williams' in-ring weights for his WW and MW fights? Wonder how much of a difference there is.

Well, i imagine that a lot of journeymen live near their fighting weight as they fight very regularly and don't have time for a camp as such.

then again, i guess many don't fight at their "optimum" weight.

If Froch tried to make 160 he would be compromisng. Stamina wouldn't be as good, chin potentially weaker, wouldnt be as powerful. If he makes 168 easily then why debate it ? He is one of the best in the division and in his prime.

  7. I'm not saying he should, I'm arguing that he physically could.

Sergio Martinez was 167 in the ring for the Pavlik fight...

So Froch/Martinez at SMW would not be that much of a physical mismatch. They could even agree a catchweight of about 165 :hey. Would love to see how Froch would go about fighting someone like Martinez.

And im saying he wouldn't be as effective in the ring if he did.

  10. I'm agreeing with you.

Every fighter is different. Buchanan was a natural lightweight for example, always around the lightweight limit even to this day.

Those who do also risk going into the ring weaker and tiring earlier because of the strain of taking so much weight off.
It isn't as simple as being bigger on the night always being the better outcome.

  13. I still don't believe Froch weighs in at 167 and then enters the ring the next day at around the same weight. If that is the case then Pascal, Taylor, Dirrell, Kessler and Abraham must have done the same because he didn't look any smaller than those guys in the ring.

I'll gladly accept being proven wrong though. If anyone can provide any ring weights for Froch it would help.

  14. Yeah I understand that but I thought that the majority of fighters did it anyway.

    I could be wrong.
