Most Memorable Boxing Moment to YOU...

    I'm new to the forum, and am curious to see what you guys consider the most memorable boxing event you have witnessed. Lots of threads are about PEDs, Scared fighters, etc...Lets talk about something different for a change...So, what do you consider the Most Memorable boxing moment/memory to you? I

    I'm 30 and grew up in Trenton, NJ...During my childhood, Mike Tyson was bigger than boxing. He was an unstoppable force that we felt could never lose....The fight against Buster Douglas was a moment I'll never forget because I wasn't just the KO; it was how he physically dominated Tyson every round. Combo after Combo...he kicked Mike's Ass all over that ring in Tokyo..It was almost a matter of when and not if he would ko him...That was a tough night for me 1990...

    One other event that sticks in my mind is a lesser known event to some. Bert Copper was the brother of my Fathers close friend. He got a shot to fight Evander Holyfield in Atl 1991 for Holyfields title after two other opponents dropped out. Close to 100 people got together at a restaurant in NJ and had TV's everywhere to watch the fight..and we almost witnessed history...He dropped Evander for the first time in Evander's career in the 3rd round. The energy was incredible...I was 11, but just knew Bert was gonna win...Lol, he didn't and eventually got stopped but it was great to see somebody I knew personally almost win the Heavy Weight Championship of the world.

    i remember vaguely when vilomar fernandez beat alexis arguello way back in the day. i was also a kid, then. vilomar is my moms cousin. we all gathered in a small apartment in the bronx with other family members of vilomar. it was a great day and history was made for the fernandez family, one of their own beat the great alexis arguello.

    i also remeber seeing the tyson fight. i was like 12, 13, then. it was alos one of the most memorable fights and dramatic fights i ever witnessed. i was a huge tyson fan back then. when buster KHO, i was so shocked and upset that i shut the tv off in front of my family while they were watching. u could imagine their reaction LOL

    The Tyson vs Douglas fight is up there for me as well.. I was 9. Chavez vs. Taylor also sticks out for me... But the one I really remember vividly is Ray Mercer's brutal KO of Tommy Morrison.

    Our whole house hated Mike Tyson back then and my dad was jumping up and down in our living room... We were all in a state of shock/joy watching Mike put his mouthpiece halfway in.

    The post-fight shot of Buster doing the "Greatest" Ali pose was ****in' brilliant.

    The first fight I ever saw was Holmes v. Cooney and, seeing how deeply it emotionally affected the adults watching, 5-year old Me knew that boxing was the most important sport around.

    The most memorable moment for me, though, was Tyson v. Berbick. Ali had been avenged and it hit me in the gut that, not only had history been made, but an entirely new era in boxing (and American sports culture) had begun.

    Yeah...And Meldrick can't even talk now...hindsight is 20/20; but Chavez was landing some brutal shots on him...

    And I thought Morrison was gonna die in the ring...

    I was only 2 during that fight...But to hear my brothers and parents talk about it later, it was crazy who the racial tension kicked up...

    The Tyson Berbick fight, my pops had that on VHS. I used to watch Berbick stumble all over the ring all the time and laugh...

    When Tyson bit Holy's ear off.
    It was memorable in a very bad way.
    A complete turn off from the sport.
