Is it? I don't know. I get confused easily. I'll be going to the Jeffro show first and foremost. Is there anything to do in Craigavon anyway? Apart from go to the local and get banjoed?
Ardy lad, if you're out there in cyberspace, can you give me the lowdown on Craigavon since you're closest to that neck of the woods? I'd like to go up and stay over and enjoy the fights. I wouldn't mind a night out while I'm up there. I'd also like to not get bundled into the boot of a car and driven back to some nutjob loylaist wateringhole in Portadown though.

McCloskey is a Belfast based boxer, and I predict he will fill out the Odyssey [10,000 punters] in his next fight. Boxing in Ireland is doing fine up here. Dublin are only relative newcomers to the professional code, and you would do well to remember that, before coming on here shouting the odds about Dublin boxing. And BTW good luck on the 26th June, I hope it's standing room only at the Stadium. I would be there myself, only I'm going to Craigavon. Even I can't be two places at once:thumbsup
We have had a fair share of champs, but yes you have had the right mix for many years up there, my spark for boxing was struck as a very young kid watching Barry win his world title, really impacted me.
BamBam I am going to the show and we can all go out for a pint afterwards. I will contact you next week about it.
Gasman froms Lurgan, so he would be a better man to advise you on accomadation, travel arrangements, bars etc. But I can tell you that Lurgan[which is right next to Craigavon] would be a better place to stay than Craigavon. I'm driving down with my brother, he's a pioneer so I can drink while he drives. I'm sure to be meeting with Ricky and Gasman, so if you have time we can have a swift pint before the boxing commences.:yep
Good stuff lads. Gasman I was thinking of staying in the Ashburn Hotel? Send me on a PM with any recommendations about where to stay or where to go. I might just manage to find time for a pint. Or 4
I attended a lot the McGuigan shows myself [from Paul Huggins onwards], great times. The area I grew up in Belfast was Ardoyne, the three sports were GAA, soccer or boxing. Every red blooded male would tried all these sports at one time or another, I stuck with boxing. I hope one day boxing in Dublin can recapture the Dunne era, that was a special time in Irish boxing, a wonderful time indeed.:thumbsup
