Good post :good People that underestimate Calzaghe feels a lot like sour yanks. It is well worth to point out that both Hopkins and Jones would have KO'd Calzaghe with one hand tied on their back and during all circumstances apart from the ones when they fought for real.
Going by your formula i`ve scored it on a 3 pts system here the score but Physical strength is void as its even Calzaghe 20 Jones 18 hopkins 16, although i might give hopkins 3pts when it comes to his chin and calzaghe 2 scoring it 19 Calzaghe 17 hopkins. if you add workrate Calzaghe pulls away a bit more
The three point system is good for most attributes but not the most valid because for example if you give (for reflexes) hopkins 1, Calzaghe 2, Jones 3 it wouldnt be fair to jones because he deserves more like a 4 comparitively
You probably would, this simply shows further reasons of the invalidity of the point rating and calzaghe would come out first because he is the most rounded in my opinion
These 3 are similar in that for a number of years they were seen as the best in their division, altho hopkins is the only one that truly ruled his. But legacy wise joe fought in the wrong division to justify his skills. Aside from mitchel, reid, lacy and kessler he didn't get enough quality fights. He should have stayed around longer fighting johnson and woods at lhw before maybe a final homecoming fight against dawson or froch. To his credit joe is the only one who can say he's the greatest ever at his division. But atg (based mainly on resume) he drops below the other two. Had I done a list based on h2h joe would rank quite high because his workrate and chin combo is amazing.
