    Well...

Dirrell is the biggest talent (physically) in boxing today.

But.... mentally he has some issues. I would even go as far as saying he is scared. Ward is probably the most gifted fighter in boxing mentally... but Dirrell is faster and taller with better reach.... still I think Ward wins if they meet because of his mental issues.

I wouldn't go that far, but he's up there.

Good post. Hes got all the tools but he has questionable heart.

I will say I think Dirrell is one of the best switch hitters I've ever seen. Most guys that switch stances seem awkward in one stance or the other. Dirrell seems equally good from both sides.

Running for dear life and holding is not winning fights.. This was a close fight that could have gone either way.. Saying that Dirrel "schooled" Froch just shows how biased you are..

The only thing Dirrell did was run, hold, complain and fall down on canvas!

All while outlanding, countering, and making his opponent miss. What one guy did is just one part of the story. What did the other guy do? Froch fans keep repeating the same old crap. They can't explain what FROCH DID to win the fight.

A split decision for a foreign fighter in England or Germany normally means the hometown fighter lost

You can google on British fans apologize for the Dirrell decison or robbery and see that there are some honest British boxing fans who felt bad for the world seeing their country's "judging" that night.

All sound very British to me

I was there that night and had Froch winning by a point. If the referee had penalised Dirrell for holding much earlier as he should have done it may have kicked him into life earlier and he might have gotten the decision.

Froch even said in his interview afterwards that ''you shouldn't try and win a title like that'' and ''he'll be going home with his tail between his legs'', that pretty much tells you that Froch knows he was on the right end of a close decision.

At the end of the day, Dirrell didn't do all he could to win the fight. He flopped to the floor, held all night and was complaining to the referee..... Froch got inside his head before the fight with all the ''I'm a huge puncher'' stuff and Dirrell showed him too much respect.

You Dirrell fangirls can whine all you want, but the decision went Carl's way..... if he'd not bitched out of the tournament he could have got his rematch, in the States.

I was rooting for Froch , but I thought Dirrell won a clear decision. You win a boxing match by landing punches... I don't think Froch landed more than 10 clean, flush punches the whole night, where as Dirrell would land at will sometimes...

That doesn't mean I enjoyed watching it... It was a terrible fight to watch, Dirrell was in full retreat the whole time, but he won.. if Dirrell doesn't want to stand and trade, he doesn't have to. Dirrell would win a rematch I feel, his style is just all wrong for Froch, too much size, movement and speed.

And that was exactly my point in the OP--here http://www.eastsideboxing.com/forum/showthread.php?t=314790
Since Dirrell beat him worse and he was gifted that one, he feels by the same standard he certainly should have been gifted his loss to Kessler.

He's become delusional. More and more fighters believing either their own hype, or desperate not to concede what their home cooking judges have done.

God damn... dirrell thinks he has star power? No one will ever get excited about his fights if he continues to fight like that. So ugly, and cowardly.

I feel like if he just opened up and unleashed his power and combos he could be vicious at 168... I don't know why he is so unwilling to fight.
