He is better than Young Mutley. Not really saying anything is it. Its still a step backwards because Gavin has faced two better opponent earliar in his career.

Rob and Wrimc i agree with what your saying. I think after Frankie's last display it might do him a favor to fight a come forward fighter who will show his skills more against.

Curtis has that football background that will develop interest and maybe SSN will mention the fight in lead up on fight week.

After Frankie's last display he kinda needs a fan pleasing display....maybe i'm wrong but i don't mind it to much.

I know you lads will say well he could of had a better opponent who comes forward but after DeGale's loss you gotta wonder how Warren feels about matching his lads up now. It was never Warren's normal way matching his guys tough early.....hope he doesn't revert back to type.

Seems like abit of a cheap option to keep Gavin active and strengthen the Liverpool show. Id be surprised if Warren didnt have something lined up for Gavin in September against an opponent like Lenny Daws. Anyone else notice Warren has been very busy announcing fights this week, trying to show he is the boss following what happened to DeGale at the weekend.

I see that side of it and I think thats what Warren had in mind when he signed Curtis to get him a few decent fights get him to commonwealth/Brit level and then make a big event of the footballer angle and feed him to Gavin. That all fell apart when he lost to Mcdonagh

Its not a bad fight because Frankie will look good against somebody that comes to win but we really can't have another one of these level sort of fights for Gavin after this. Otherwise there really should be question marks over Warrens faith in him for whatever reason.

He clearly is by putting his fighter in with a guy who lost to someone he beat over a year ago.

Gavin beat Peter McDonough on points Feb 2010. McDough went on to lose 3 more fights in 2010 before beating Curtis Woodhouse. In March of this year he was stopped by Darren Hamilton for the Southern Area title.

Darren Hamilton or Steve Williams could easialy be made as British title eliminators. Frankie and his team keep saying they want to fight Ashley Theophane but there not exactly going out of there way to make force the fight.

Frankie vs Steve Williams makes sense especially as the show is in Liverpool!

Exaxctly. British title eliminator. Theophane is defending 2 weeks later. Both win. The fight goes to purse bids in August, frank wins (he has to eventually) and they fight in Birmingham in October.

Well maybe that is the case who knows mate. Frankie's clearly talented technician...but i dunno what goes on in Warren's head.

Woodhouse will come to win, he has previous with Gavin and is a better opponent than Mutley.

Gavin needs to put a show on after that borefest at the weekend.

I can't see a problem with this fight.

Two guys not getting along doesn't mean its gonna be a good fight. Come on BB this is a step backwards from him. Where is frankie career going. After this fight what is next? Not a british title.
