What i mean is that i think if the fight was to happen in both their primes, Hopkins would win because he had the greater skill set of the 2. However, Ward and Hopkins have such similar styles that I think Ward's youth will allow him to implement it better at this stage and so would probably get him the win.

I agree about Cleverly, no way does he beat Hopkins. However, that would be more his style of fighting which would lose him it, so age wouldn't be so much of a problem in that type of fight

I really thought he would retire after Pascal. I thought it was the perfect way to go.

I dunno after the other night i thought pack it in now Nard. You sealed the legacy long time ago and you've just put the cherry on top with becoming oldest champion of the world.

But he knows what he's doing and isn't like RJJ he's successful and winning and still healthy so if he continues fair play. He loves the sport so much he was supposed to retire at 40 i believe after a promise made to his mother.

Him vs Ward would be a chess match and i'd love to watch it, not so sure about a large majority on this forum but some of us would appreciate it.

I love the stance he had in opening rounds against Pascal on saturday. Some 1930's hand positions as well as his foot work. Love watching his methods.

i reckon he probably could continue fighting and winning until he turns 50, you take care of your body and it'll take care of you. He beats almost all of the SMW's / LH's out there with the exception of ward i think...
If he fought Clev now it'd be a walk in the park for him - a real case of man against boy - and i really don't think fwank wants to put his boy in with B-Hop regardless of all the posturing the past few days.

Did'nt he promise his now deceased ma he'd jack it in at 40? Nah, he loves this game too much, he'll search out more challenges he thinks/knows he has the upper hand in.

Never thought i'd see the days, the likes of Bhop and Jones fighting outside the US. Jones chases the last few decent remaing paydays by doing it, whilst hopkins had to be getting serious money AND knew he had Pascals number by doing it. He's the ultimate manipulator in AND out the ring.

Get to the UK Bernard and do a hagler.

    If he fights Chad Dawson.

    "Chad Dawson may retire him"

A 100% focused Chad Dawson, will beat Hopkins. Non of these mental switch off, or being lazy. If Chad Dawson is living life on the edge, and focused for 3mins of every round.

Bernard Hopkins at 46, cannot cope with the speed and skill of Chad Dawson. The athletic ability, and just raw hand speed.

    BAD BAD BAD BAD..!!!

Bernard Hopkins is a great fighter, and good athlete. But he's sruvived so long because he has a good "CHIN" and is crafty. He does nothing technically out of this world, is not the best combination puncher. People need to keep things in context, and so does Bernard Hopkins.

    If he fights Chad Dawson.

    "He will be beaten"

We got to stick to the facts, Bernard Hopkins since his late 30's. Has not be able to be affective, and productive in a high intensity workrate fight. Bernard Hopkins has always had trouble with supream athlete's who are gifted physically. Chad Dwason, has serious physical skills, Chad Dawson can do things with his speed and combination punching, something Bernard Hopkins has not seen or witnessed for 15 years.

If Bernard Hopkins faces Chad Dawson, he's not winning that fight. Bernard Hopkins has lasted so long because he is crafter, and he mastered the basics. He never was a supream athlete physically. Guys like Roy Jones are on par with Michael Phelps and Usain Bolt. Bernard Hopkins is on par with, just a athlete who is slightly above average.

"In terms of physical skills, speed, athleticism, Power, co-ordination"

Hopkins is not the best combination puncher, he's not very fluent. And when he cannot cope with the speed of someones attack, he will just look to hold.

"Like i said, he sticks to the basic's, knows his limits"

But i cannot knock the guy he gets the job done, and knows his limits inside of the ring......and he's carfty.

He could'nt cope with Joe Calzaghe's workrate, so he held and wrestled him.

"He could'nt cope witH Jermaine Taylor's combinations on the inside, so he stood off and tried to sharp shoot Taylor. "Which did'nt work" and he was reduced to throwing a average of 10-12 punches a round in the second Jermaine Taylor fight"

If Bernard Hopkins faces Chad Dawson its over. A 100% Chad Dawson, can throw the sort of combinations, Roy Jones would be happy with on a average day.

Chad Dawson has physical and technical skills.
