Yes he is, For a guy that has disrespected races and many others he is the first to cry. Has Donovan McNabb taking legal action against him after not one but many stupid negative comments and remarks made towards him by Hopkins?

Hopkins is my guy, but he's being oversenstive here. Pascal was just talking **** to hype up the fight. Hopkins talks more **** than just about anyone. He's made racially charged comments, he threw a bag of rice and beans at Trinidad(as well as the P.R flag), he's made all sorts of negative comments about McNabb. For a guy who likes to dish it out, he seems to have a problem taking it. I don't know about the laws in Canada, but Hopkins would definately lose this case in the States. I hope the judge throws this out. It will be a sad day in boxing if guys are afraid to talk **** because they might get sued.

 

He said it because 7 years ago, he felt that McNabb snubbed him when he visited the Eagles facility. He's held a grudge ever since. How the hell has what Pascal said hurt Hopkins' earning potential? Fans in Canada were cheering him, and HBO has no problem continuing to broadcast his fights. What Pascal said was prefight hype, no one paid much attention to it. Except for his feelings, Hopkins has not been harmed in any way.

 

It's one thing to talk **** one on one. It's another thing to accuse someone of something very serious in public (on television) with millions watching. How many people now think Hopkins may be on PEDs now just because of Pascal's baseless accusations? Like it or not, Pascal damaged some of Bernard's reputation. Look how many people think Pac is on PEDs now compared to before Floyd Sr. talked about it in public, with zero evidence.

 

You dont think Hopkins comments saying McNabb is weak and not real black and not having no heart and being weak, not tough enough doesnt hurt his image that he work so hard for when he play for in the Eagles? He has said this more than once as well. It's the same thing ruining his trademark. Hopkins should just be a man.

No, a man's reputation is important. Pascal tried to ruin his reputation (which could ultimately affect a fighter's earnings) and he should be made to pay for that. If you make a big accusation like that you have to have hard evidence to back it up. If a newspaper made a slanderous claim like that there would be no question about suing them, what makes it right for another boxer to do the same and get away with it?

 

Didnt Pascal said are you willing to take a test, the fans are asking for one? It was in a press conference. Hopkins has tried to ruin McNabb's image with statements through ESPN and other interviews with his own mouth. Did Pascal ever said Hopkins is on PED?

 

Very few, if any. 25% of U.S now thinks Obama wasn't born in this country because of all the baseless accusations thrown his way. Should he sue all the birthers?

The fact of the matter is, the courts would be flooded if judges allowed public figures to succesfully sue people because they say bad things about them(even if the things said are lies and/or baseless accusations). There's a reason the defamation of character lies are written the way they are in The U.S in concern to public figures. I hope it's the same in Canada.
