Bernard Hopkins: Like Manny Pacquiao, I defend my reputation

Hopkins acknowledges the similarity with Pacquiao’s reputational defense. He thinks Pascal crossed the line from prefight hype to slander.

“I can’t go into the details right now but, yeah, I will be represented on that. I will do what I have to do to defend and protect my reputation from any slander, any libel, anything like this. I worked too hard to get to this level and to stay here. My name, my reputation is, at the end of the day, the only thing I’ve got.

“I’m taking my name, my reputation, to the grave, not money. So this cannot be comprised like that. I must challenge any allegations like this,” Hopkins said.

“I never accused him because I don’t know what Manny Pacquiao does, what he eats,” Hopkins said. “But you can’t let those things just slide. We lived in a world of reputation. Talk about my mother, my father, call me a liar or whatever…but you’ve got to draw the line at any defamation or slander.”

the difference is hopkins is grandpa and pac is prime. he is more suspect of PEDS than pac but i am giving him the benefit of the doubt until proven otherwise.

Bernard Hopkins is a PED user, I've voiced my suspicioun of him when in a span of less than 6 months, he put on 15 lbs of muscle mass to fight Antonio Tarver and looked stronger than Tarver who was a career light heavyweight.


.....and not only that, Hopkins was the only representative of GBP to voice he was on Pacquiao's side on the issue of PED testing.
This was before Pascal accused him.
When I heard that from Hopkins, I thought to myself, this man does'nt want to get accused himself so he's already hailing a pre-emptive strike in case someone accuses him.

You dont put on 15 lbs of muscle mass on less than 6 months and look like Hopkins did vs Tarver.

 

funny though because a more practical and easier way is to just take the test and then whoop the persons ass in the ring...

but i guess paying to clear your name works too....
