Great thread, and I think a good writeup. I agree it's consistent in its own methods, but some things stick out for sure.

I knew Dempsey was overrated here, but I'm not getting this. In what way possible does Johnson have a better chance of making things rough and out-pointing Wlad than Dempsey. Johnson is content on sitting back and waiting for his moments to counter is the first sentence. Then I'm afraid he's in for a slaughter, because Wlad doesn't give you many chances. Dempsey has all the **** and vinegar like Frazier and Tyson to destroy Wlad, maybe more so. And the style more favorably to do so.

I like how they have Marciano not getting knocked out, but losing due to the modern nature of boxing. Although his proneness to fight stopping "cuts" gets overstated I can live with that prediction... even if Haye seems incomplete, and too unproven to be predicted as a victor. Marciano stopping Wlad is Purity-esque sounding, and if he's going to win then I like the way they describe it to occur.

What's up with all these Ali TKO predictions? You see a lot of Ali TKO inside 3 rounds way too often, because those were rarities against much lesser opposition. There's nothing wrong with picking Ali to outpoint and school these guys.

I love that line. Agree with the idea that Frazier's consummate pressure is an awful style matchup for Wlad. The only thing I would disagree with is Frazier stopping Wlad earlier than Tyson.

Can't imagine Foreman allowing this to happen, unless the fights in Germany or Zaire again.

    Love this.

Haye beating Marciano and Dempsey along with Jonshon outpointing Volodymyr are the most laughable imo.

Haye beating any of those guys is obscene until we see how he does against Wladimir Klitschko.
But, obviously, a British magazine cashing in on pre-fight interest isn't going to tell us that.

Interesting that Dempsey has become the whipping dog. The Dempsey schism exists outside the confines of these walls. Or maybe I just overrate him ? .... Nah.

I don't think Wlad loses to Frazier that quickly.
I think he'd give Lewis a close fight too, albeit a boring one.

I think it would be more realistic for Tyson to obliterate Wlad in 2 rounds, & for Frazier to take about 5 rounds to halt him.

I might get crucified in the classic for this, but i think Peak Wlad might beat the Foreman who lost to Jimmy Young on points, by late TKO. That listless version of Foreman was lethargic, had a very low punch-output & lacked the "raging fury" which should always be burning within super-aggressive fighters like him.

Jack Johnson again... ****ing hell :bart

Joe Louis wouldn't be fighting a smaller version of Valuev here (the zombie like Baer brothers) so it's a stretch to claim he'd stop Wlad in 2

 at Jack Johnson winning. at Dempsey losing to Haye(who i really think is a ****ing fraud heavyweight)... at Marciano beating Wlad..... I also have serious doubts about Wlad decisioning Foreman, either foreman would shatter him into a jillion pieces or he'd get knocked out late-mid himself.

I can see squire above me is raging at his computer desk over this one

I like it. Though i dont think Jack Johnson beats Wlad. The Dempsey fight picks are spot on, we have film of both and Haye is much superior technically, as big a puncher and the bigger man.

Nah Jack Johnson is irrelevant here. It's those ****s that hate modern boxing that wind me up. Boring cliches.

Haye is Dempsey's inferior for sure imo. dude has 0 stamina, throws telegraphed punches from across the atlantic, and doesn't have anything comparable to the mauler's short/inside game.

he does have a slightly better outside capability, although i'm not sure if that's just straight running away and potshotting from incapable old ****ers.

Haye is a joke thus far.
He really needs to up his game against Wlad if any of this stuff can be considered anything more than bull****.

The only thing he has demonstrated at HW is his big mouth, and even that's lagging far behind the ATG standards.

You'd probably pick Audley Harrison to beat Dempsey too !

I think Mormeck was a great win for Haye..but I haven't seen anything that would lead me to favor him over these guys listed.

Seems like Dempsey is an easy whipping boy for modern writers. Along with Louis, he's one of the few guys who I would be completely confident in blowing out Wlad.

Frazier Koing Wlad in 2? Wow, outside of a certain bean pole, Joe was not that fast of a starter. If he beats Wlad it would be by breaking him down and making him gas. If anyone is blitzing Wlad its Louis, Dempsey or Tyson if he keeps a cool head and can get past all the clinching and wrestling.
