Judah Still Wants 50-50 Deal, No UK TV Rights

Zab Judah told Steve Kim that all he wants is 50-50 to face Amir Khan. I know some feel he doesn't deserve it, but frankly he does, and business-wise (since we're just talking business), it makes no sense that he doesn't. Judah, as he says, has a belt same as Khan. Judah is a bigger U.S. star than Khan, even faded. Khan, as Kim notes, saw his last "big fight" in the States draw 3,195 in Las Vegas against Marcos Maidana. Judah is, quite frankly, the bigger star for the moment. If they fight, that could change over the duration of the fight. And he's not even asking for the UK TV money that Khan and Golden Boy made a show of "offering" Tim Bradley.
"They're talking about foreign sales and all that; alright, keep all that bullsh*t. I just want the American rights, 50/50, a regular split and that's it. You keep all your U.K. bullsh*t. I want everyone to know this deal is not me. It's not me that's not making this fight happen. I don't want nobody saying, 'Oh, Zab Judah don't want to fight Amir Khan.' Amir Khan can't beat me! He can't beat me! A good Zab Judah, a bad Zab Judah, there's no way he can beat me- he can't! He just came out of the Olympics a couple years ago. I turned professional at 18 years old. I've been doing this. I'm a five-time champ of the world. I don't know what he's talking about."
While Judah's boasting about turning pro at 18 while Khan went to the Olympics is, um, interesting -- you know, considering Judah tried to go to the Olympics and was prevented by David Diaz -- he really isn't being old egotistical Zab here, in my opinion. 50-50 for the fight makes sense. Judah also suspects that Golden Boy will, in the end, stay in-house for a cheaper option in Robert Guerrero or Erik Morales.

Awesome match up whoever wins. Both have questionable chins and decent power.

I think Zab takes a decent dig to be fair. He's nowhere near as vulnerable as many people think he is.

The only man to really bomb him out is Tszyu, who could stretch pretty much anyone with his right hand. Cotto of course wore him down but it was a mercy stoppage if anything, he was taking plenty of stick but wasn't being badly banged up.

Fair play to Khan for taking this, it's a fight that's got FAIL written all over it from where I'm standing. He won't get that much credit for winning and would be laughed at if he lost.

In fairness you're probably right, Tszyu had a good dig and on reflection I think Khan doesn't sit on punches like he used to. That body shot he landed on Maidana was a peach though. I guess I'm saying although he's got sting I can't visualise him KOing Zab. If Khan wins it's gonna be by decision.

    Nice avatar btw.

An Arabic word/phrase meaning 'hopefully'. It means 'with God's will'.
