I know this is classic, but Hopkins is classic at this point. We have a very interesting matchup with these two if it does in fact happen. Chad Dawson besides being a tad too laid back in the ring, makes one very key mistake technically backing straight up when hes pressured, but Hopkins doesnt really have the firepower to hurt him too badly, so it will be a very interesting fight.
Pressure will be the name of the game, and Emanuel Steward knows it. This fight in my opinion will definitely enhance Hopkins legacy as a fighter if he can win it, because Dawson will be fully prepared and represents a very good challenge at LH, size, speed, youth etc. Thoughts?

I don't think Dawson will be able to handle it, mentally or really even physically. I don't expect any fair-weather, laid-back fighter to defeat a version of Hopkins that is this confident, even a young guy like Dawson with good talent and skill.

Hopkins should retire. He's embarrassing these young guys.

I just don't know if Hopkins can pull this off. Dawson is good technically and is a pretty big LHW. The main question is if he'll crack under the pressure. He really didn't perform well against Pascal, be it an off night or not.

You can never underestimate Hopkins though, he still has the desire to be good which is a rare thing at his age.

I dont want to see it. If Hopkins pulls it off it would be amazing IMO, not that Dawson is that good just hes a bad style

Dawson will soundly defeat Hopkins..it's not going to last...this age defying streak from Hopkins, and let's be realistic, Dawson is much better than Taylor and will give Hopkins his first real beating. Be not dismayed with Chad's less than scintillating style...he has the size, speed, style and necessary physicality to break everyone's heart here....of course not by a ko, but by a very convincing, if dull points victory. it might even be the equivalent of Charles-Louis.

That "loss" to the mediocre Pascal was for Dawson, a fluke..an anomaly...he is much better than all of Hopkin's past foes and it will be a fitting end for Hopkin's career...he'll go out like a champion..and believe it, he'll pull out all the stops..all the the dramatic swoons to his knees, and bad acting in feigning being hit with low blows..all that pitiful stuff ad nauseum, but it will do no good because it'll be time for the changing of the guard for Bernard.

Nonsense...a focused, prepared Dawson whips Pascal like a redheaded stepchild.

Pascal destroyed a Prime Chad Dawson. Deal with it. Hopkins in return BEAT pascal. Dawson had enough trouble with over the hill glen johnson and antonio tarver.

Destroyed :huh Not really destroyed ...But the problem with Chad is that he fights in spurts hopefully we see the Dawson that blew out Johnson and Tarver in their rematches and not the Dawson that struggled with Pascal and Johnson in their 1st fight .

It does reflect poorly on boxing. It'd be good for boxing if somebody stepped up and took B-Hop out of there emphatically, I think Chad can do it if he gets his head on straight and fights smart.
