I remember he called out someone after the Zuniga fight. Bute was asked if he wanted Kessler next and his answer could be intepreted as a call-out: "Eeeerrrmmm.... eh .... There are other champions...." So he called out all the other champions.
Kessler has only been on his radar recently, I'm talking about the last two years of poor defences. Also, Kessler has an upcoming fight, Bute can move up and fight Hopkins and go back down to fight Kessler when Kessler is ready.
Contract. Bute had already signed with Showtime when Hopkins signed with HBO. That alone, in the real world, makes it impossible to see a fight between them before at least a year. Secondly, Hopkins has to face Dawson. That's what the WBC AND HBO wants him to do.
He was supposed to fight your favourite fighter on HBO. You know, before he gets beaten by a JMW? If Bute didn't fight Pavlik, it is not his fault. More, Bute had agreed to fight him in USA. Were you saying Bute doesn't want to fight outside of Montreal? :rofl
You can get Showtime and HBO fighters to fight, it has been done before, though I do understand it is not always easy. As said though, Hopkins could relinquish his WBC title and fight Bute, which Im sure Hopkins would IF it made better financial sense
bute has a full schedule the remainder of the year. Then next year to gets the Super 6 winner, most likely Glen Johnson.
i've heard interbox tried to get Hopkins; they sent him 3 offers, all of them turned down; but all this when Hopkins was targeting Pascal, an undisputed champ at 175, with weaker stamina, lower ring IQ and non-that-threatening punching power (compared with Bute).
If that was the case why doesn't Interbox tell that in public? That would be a great pwnage on Hopkins. In other words it's hard believing you.
Is Bhop some semi pro journeyman? Nah therefore Bute cant fight him because [insert excuse] Once Mendy is done i can see Bute calling out RJJ
