That can't stand heavyweights? I saw FNF last night and the first fight, guys ranked 7 and 8 I think, were beyond awful. The Arreola fight was better, but still not great...in my opinion. Even the 6-0 guy from Cali and the 3-4-3 guy from Boise Idaho fight was better than the heavies. I've seen the Klitchko fights and other heavies and just don't have the same interest. Anyone else in the same boat?
I love boxing period. I'd even watch the 105 lbs guys battle but I think that fight last night was the worst I've seen in a long time.
Well, I love the HWs, always have. I mean, these modern U.S. HWs are as bad as the mediocrities who populated the division in the early 80s before Tyson came along. But I still love watching them. I started really following boxing hardcore during that "lost generation" of HWs, it's a wonder I got into them at all. Outside of Larry Holmes, pretty much all of them were either not very talented, out of shape, or just plain crap. Kind of like now - you have the Klitschkos and a bunch of trash. That's the way it is in HW boxing sometimes.
Then don't watch them! I like the HW, CW, LHW only, I never watch the fart weights and don't care what they do. But you'll never see me making threads attacking them because (unlike you) I don't have an agenda.:yep
no. especially the so-called top American heavyweights. good luck staying awake. is any active top heavyweight slower than tony thompson?
I agree about the current heavies, but no so much in the past [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=COHnPxfRiCg&feature=related[/ame][ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UePMhizpvUI&feature=related"][/ame]
still my favorite division. probably always will be. there really aren't that many exciting guys out there right now but that will change. one of the previous posters nailed it. the k brothers are the larry holmes of this generation. and i personally find them more exciting than most seem to. vitaly's fight with arreola was awesome! but i do miss the early 90s when there were so many godd heavyweights out there: briggs, tyson, lewis, forrman, holyfield, bowe, golota, mercer, morrison, ect, ect. those were exciting times. i think they'll come again.
thompson is hard to watch. i can't get into arreola either. but when kevin johnson actually shows up to fight, he puts on a hell of a show. i think he got in the ring with vitaly and could not figure out how to mount an offensive. his two or three fights prior to this all ended in knockout
My favourite weights are light-super MW, HW fight can still be interesting but i havent seen a good HW fight in a long time and dont expect to anytime soon. We are a bit cursed with out HW division atm
The heavyweight division may be the worst, but still likely in my top half of the divisions in terms of how I follow it, wish it improves, and am intrigued by it, even if all logic says I'm an idiot for this statement.
