Hello, my names Swarmer and i work in media
    i often contribute to wikipedia.
In the eyes of Pachilles im in denial,
he says my afro is counter-acted by my PC smile.
I've just been calculating my tax sum
I dont believe in affirmative action,
only today i was discussing the ludicrousness of Jesse Jackson.
    Lets talk space and time,
i like to get deep sometimes and think about Einstein,
and Carl Jung. And old white racists i like to see...
Oh! pardon me a second, the pizza's here,
will someone let him in please?
We didnt order chicken, not a problem i'll pick it out
i doubt they meant to mess us about.
After all, im a gentleman, not a lout.
As i was saying, back in the 20's they had a point,
one will never catch me smoking a joint.
The corpse of Dempsey would beat Tyson in his prime
    hurrah for the colour line!

after careful consideration i agree with slavery.
    I appreciate what is regal,
embarrassed i shave my curly pubes and go bald eagle.
I like my girls like i like my Heavweights,
    120lbs with no ass.
And no im not smoking grass,

As it stands i may as well put it on lease,

If you'll excuse me now to complete my transaction,
i've ordered some vitiligo pigment to look like M.Jackson

Duran. He beat more fighters, over a longer period of time,at his peak weight.

The fact that leonard makes my top 20 considering his short prime is testament to how great he was. I have no doubt that without the eye injury he would have dominated the welterweight scene just like napoles did. But he didn't.

Duran established himself as the greatest lightweight in history and then, outside his prime weight, still racked up victories over leonard, moore and barkley as well as giving a great showing against a prime hagler. Yes he lost that as well as losing to benitez and hearns but this was all during his thirties outside of his prime weight.

If leonard, benitez, hagler and hearns all took on duran in his prime weight I think we all know how one sided the fights would be.

Duran is number 10 on my list. Leonard is number 17

the problem is Duran never fought anyone at lightweight who was as great as Leonard,Benitez,Hearns or Hagler, so saying we all know how onesided the fights would be, we really don't. All we know is that Leonard, Hearns and Benitez beat Duran as onesided as it can get. A top 10 ATG beating one ATG, and then losing to that same great 2 times easily? I would say 20-25

    Leonard, for me.

His resume just rocks. Its freaking stellar.

Duran lost to many of the men Leonard beat, and lost twice to the man himself.

That said, he also beat him once, and has his own great wins above his best weights. He's also a great fighter.

They are close, but Leonard to me was the best fighter of his era. He fought everybody, pretty much, and beat them. It took another great like Duran to give him a loss, and he avenged it soundly and didn't lose again for what, nearly a decade?

Both guys studs, though. We were blessed to have them.

Who would you favour, out of this list, to beat a 27 year old duran at lightweight: leonard, hearns, hagler, benitez.

Duran. He ruled his weight division with an iron fist for 7 years, and went on to win titles at 147, 154, and 160. Granted he was inconsistent above LW, but didn't take any time off. He fought anybody anywhere anytime.

Roberto Duran for me. Not by much mind you, close but clear.

SRL only had about 10-12 world title fights, lost a couple of those, had a short career and therefore a short prime. Despite how amazing he was, this cannot be overlooked.

Duran won the lightweight title in 1972, was a long-reigning dominant champion, and was still around to win a middleweight title in 1989, 17 years later, against a guy with insane size advantages over him. He also has a greater best win than Leonard does IMO.

In terms of greatness, Duran achieved more, proved more due to his longevity, and on his day proved to be at least the equal of Leonard, if not even better considering they were at SRL's weight and not Duran's when they did match up.

Obviously, two of the very very finest in history. True "elite" ATGs.

Reverse the fighters for me, best this is a great post. I can certainly respect this viewpoint. I think Leonards wins are better and mean more, but you make a great argument.
