"DAVID DIAZ BELIEVES HE CAN BEAT MARQUEZ"

    http://philboxing.com/news/story-55469.html

Diaz told the Philippine Daily Inquirer in an overseas telephone conversation that although no contract has been signed “it’s a fight that I want and I really do hope it happens.”

At the same time the southpaw who was battered by pound-for-pound king Manny Pacquiao into submission in a 9th round TKO on June 28, 2008 said “I’ve been in the gym, doing my roadwork and a little bit of shadow boxing so just in case they do want me, I’ll be ready for them.”

Diaz said “everybody knows the way I fight and its going to be one of those fights where I go to him. I’m not going to be running away from him but I’ll have to be smart about it and I think we have the tools to beat him.”

The likeable southpaw who visited General Santos City some years ago to join in Pacquiao’s birthday celebrations along with the late Edwin Valero thanked his Filipino friends for their support and added, “Hello and Mabuhay.”

The 34 year old Diaz has a record of 36-3-1 with 17 knockouts.

In his last fight the Chicago native beat Robert Frankel by a majority ten round decision on January 28 this year . Diaz earlier dropped a unanimous twelve round decision to Humberto Soto in a battle for the vacant World Boxing Council lightweight title on March 13, 2010 at the Dallas Cowboys Stadium in Texas.

Marquez , the reigning WBA and WBO champion has a record of 52-5-1 with 38 knockouts . In his last fight Marquez scored a 9th round TKO over a bloodied Michael Katsidis of Australia on November 27, 2010.

Good stuff, obviously he's too serious for this fight and doesn't want to be inactive for long going into it. Diaz is tune-up material though he can't find anyone good enough to imitate Pacquiao so this is a good stay-active fight.

Good tune up fight and Diaz is as game as they come. He gave Humberto Soto a hell of a fight some think Diaz should of won that fight. He was manhandling Soto at will. JMM will be more aggressive than usual and does well to prepare himself for the beast that is Manny. JMM by TKO.

Nice, good fight for the fans... David diaz ain't backing up and JMM will counter hiss ass till the KO... It will be good like how good the PAC demolishment of him was... Good tune up, with the South paw and come forwardness to fine tune the skills..

That is way too risky a tune-up fight, I don't care what anybody says, Diaz ain't no pushover.

Exactly PAC just dethroned him about 2 years ago... Lost only to an amazing fighter in PAC, DIAZ is still prime:D(Like mosely KO;ing Margo and he was prime right?) Good Fight for JMM a tad bit risky... but the Avoided one laughs at risk and takes on the best.. he fought PAC twice, fought Mayweather one, fought many young lions, That dude knows no limits, he is now scheduled to fight the best fighter of the decade, the WW king, JMM is the under dog, the smaller man moving up 2 divisions to take on PACQUIAO....

David diaz is a small bump to reach the mountaing peak.. he will be motivated and come ready for November.. nothing will stop him :happy

    whats the risk in diaz?:rofl

its a good tune up imo, if he doesn't win against someone like diaz then he's done for and he can forget about the pac fight. Not like its possible but if it did happen, I don't see diaz winning anyway
