Not really hearing anything about this one...I'm pretty pumped for it as the winner will face the winner of Wlad-Haye and it's an interesting matchup between a couple of pretty skilled heavies. Does Chambers speed and youth carry the day or does Thompsons size and sheer awkwardness do it for him?
Assuming Chambers wins. What does Uncle Manny do if he fights Wlad again, now that he has been working with Eddie. Obviously he stays with Wlad but it does seem like an odd conflict of interest.
Has Chambers ever fought again after his loss to Wlad? i think i there's no ring rust he can outbox Thompson
:huh so one of the 2 guys Waldo has already KTFO with one punch... will get another mandatory title shot? :tired atsch
Once, against Derric Rossy for the eliminator. He got the UD, but had previously stopped Rossy in seven. However, Rossy was much less experienced. Rossy was on a pretty good run, with Chambers coming off the pretty bad loss to Wlad and nearly a year out. Pulev has since faced Rossy and stopped him in five, earlier this month. Pulev, coming into that fight 11-0, is a good prospect but check out the notes listed for this fight: Highly controversial stoppage made by referee Soren Saugmann, who stopped the fight while Rossy was countering off the ropes, not appearing to be in any serious trouble. It appeared that the referee received a signal from ringside judge Jan Christensen before stopping the fight. Christensen had been a referee in one of the night's previous bouts. After the fight, Sal Musumeci, Rossy's promoter, claimed he would push for the Danish Professional Boxing Federation to change the outcome of the fight to a No-Contest. :think:verysad:-conf
met tony thompson on friday after he koed maurice harris and said he will give chambers all kind of problems because of his height and southpaw stance. said he's friends with chambers and urged him to get in shape and go down to cw. he's really nice guy and approachable. also saw maurice harris after he got koed at the crap table at silver legacy. he seemed like it didn't bother him one bit, and was all smiles at the crap table.
As an Eddie Chambers fan, he loses to either Haye or Wladimir. Chambers is really a cruiserweight, because he's a very skilled boxer he can beat a top 10 heavyweight.
Fast Eddie by comfortable UD against Old Thompson. Tony Thompson is 40 years old & slow. Wlad would KO Chambers again, but if Haye beats Wlad then he'll KO Chambers.
thompson is one of the slowest heavyweights i have ever seen...chambers is one of the smallest....thompson is old , eddie isnt,,,,,both got KTFO by wlad and with neither winning many rounds if any....so anyone looking forward to this , im not sure why...unless you like watching the same bad movies over and over hoping they get better
Thompson looked pretty scary the other night. Hard, accurate punches. And whenever Fast Eddie moves in close for his flurries, Thompson will have the opportunity to land on him as well. It does seem that Fast Eddie is too fast for the Tiger but nonetheless it's an intriguing match-up. Thompson won't lose his composure like Dimitrenko did. But will Thompson gas in the late rounds?
I can see Eddie Chambers flurrying and pot-shotting his way to a wide UD. Thompson has a chance to win be has to be more active, and not telegraph his punches so much. I can see some of his shots coming from a mile away.
