I see the draw is 11/4. Both teams score plenty but Town have by far a better defence. I think a lot of people are laying this with a view to backing it once someone scores. If the 0-0 is 17/1, what would it be at half time? Lots of these playoff games tend to be tight because both teams are scared of losing.
That's my line of thought on the 0-0 BB. Noonan laying off a bet at a lower price guarantees a profit on all outcomes.
By laying you're effectively betting against a particular outcome, as opposed to backing it. If you've got a football match, say Hudds vs Peterborough.... Huddersfield 8/5 Peterborough 9/5 Draw 11/4 If you put £1000 on Huddersfield, you're profit/loss will read.... Hudders +£1800 Peterbro -£1000 Draw -£1000 If Hudds score first, the inplay odds might look something like.... Hudders 1/2 Peterbro 7/1 Draw 4/1 When laying the odds are essentially reversed, you're getting 2/1 on Hudds not winning. So to get your £1000 back it'll cost you £500, so you'd look like.... Hudds +£1300 Peterbro £0 Draw £0 What you can do is lay more, so you could guarantee a profit in the region of £800-900..... a win is still a win. Where I find this helps is if I back a team to win and they start badly without conceding I can get my stake back pretty much in full, without panicking about whether they'll balls it up or not. The best way to figure it out is to use Betfair and play around with small stakes, a couple of quid at a time.
Nice on BB, I kind of understood but didn't realise it was to do with in play betting, From your experience to make it pay you need to put fairly hefty sums on? And do you use this method to make a fair profit over time?
Not really, I just worked on a thousand because it's easier to work out with a hangover It'll work with whatever you put on, I suppose it's a way to make a decent amount with lower risk. I always lay off at some point, had a decent win on a rugby game and put it all on Arsenal to beat Newcastle, was probably a couple of hundred quid. Laid off at 3-0, only cost me £3 to guarantee the profit (nearly £200)..... if I'd been smarter or had a crystal ball I'd have laid even more, would have only cost an extra tenner to have £1000 profit on Newcastle or the draw.
Definitely mate. It's always a dodgy carry on with British judges lately, if you bet someone at evens and at the bell they're 1/5, get it laid off. A few people on here said they got Groves at 4's and 5's during the last round. One thing I may start doing is using Skybet's method of victory..... the markets for split and majority decisions are very generous (often between 12-16/1), if a fight seems pretty evenly matched like Smith vs Simpson you could shove a tenner on each and you'll still have between 6 and 8/1.
Nice.... just laid off before the Peterborough striker missed a sitter on the stroke of HT. More than trebled my money. That's a good bet.
I backed at 17.5 and laid at 4.8..... Was half tempted to let it run but both teams look a bit shaky at the back....
