I started watching boxing around the time KT fought Sharmba Mitchell he was the man in those days but I've seen his fight against Phillips of course. I think that KT doesn't like pressure. He likes to be given room to breathe so he can set up his punches and get his timing down.

when he lost to phillips i believe he was in and out of court because of a split with his promoter bill mordy. that may of proved a distraction.
I believe he got beat by Phillips because: 1. KT was still youngish and never really been tested or pressured before in a fight. 2. Vince Phillips on his day was a very good fighter, it was a bit like Buster Douglas against Tyson, they had the ability and heart for those fights. 3. KT was probably over confident and was busting up guys fairly easily at that time and maybe got a little lazy at training etc 4. KT had issues with his promoter at the time and was forced to pay something like $7mil It was a wake up call and KT came back after that lose and was a better fighter.
