I think he started them in Oz @ Powerhouse in March 2009 & held about 7 since then

A friend of a friend was going to fight on the card but he pulled the pin.

 

I hate it, People like topp should be training real fighters who won't to fight. not this joke. I know he charges them a **** load of money for this stuff. It is very hard to watch. So bad, it made me laugh.

 

Easy buck for promoter. Gets 24 monkeys (fitness freaks) from different gyms, gives each 2 or 3 tables @ $1,000/1,200 to flog to his work mates, mates, neighbours, family etc.....Pays the venue/caterer, 4 or 5 ring officials (approx 100 bucks each) & pockets the rest

The theory is that most of these nights are held for rasing money for charity. The onus is certainly on the combatants to sell their own tickets though.

 

I.S.K.A. and W.K.A. world middle weight Muay Thai champion. Also a successful amateur and professional boxer. Biggest opponent as a boxer was Carl Froch.

 

I can see some merit in these 'events', unlike our resident flat tyre here, Mr. Cynicism. Gives people who would never normaly be able to experience a boxing fight as a fighter the chance to live out that dream. The participants have to embark on a 9-12 week training course to get into shape for the fight and they tend to stick to it as they have something to aim for, that has to be a good thing. As mentioned above some of the money raised goes to charity or at the very least towards keeping a boxing gym afloat and, again, as mentioned above, introduces new prospective fight fans to live boxing.

Well, he was a boxing champion, but not two time world boxing champion, surely you are smart enough to realize that if he was a two time boxing world champion, from Australia, you would have heard of him. He was Australian middle weight amateur champion, and pro PABA light heavy weight champion as a boxer, lost to Carl Froch for the Commonwealth title.
