Do you remember DLH vs Forbes ? Cotto would have ****ed DLH up, no stamina , no defense and not enough power to be able to trade with Cotto.

That fight was at a catch weight. The De La Hoya that fought Floyd would beat Cotto not the one that fought Forbes.

I think Corrales at 140 gives him hell ,Not saying he will beat Cotto though .

Except your thread is about you fantasizing about how Cotto can beat everyone on FLOYD'S resume not Forbes resume.

Cotto has stamina issues himself, a half AZZed shoulder roll with extra slow east euro slavic style reflexes as his defense, and would get ***** slapped by Oscar's hook if he wanted to trade.

It was at 150 ... You guys put WAY too much into a few pounds. Shows that many of you have never actually been that close to professional boxing .

You're dreaming ... Oscar hadn't Been effective with the left against any top opponents for years. DLH at the end stood and boxed like a statue . Cotto destroys anyone who stands there stationary with no defense.

That's why he got beat up by the incredibly flat footed ANTONIO and decided to jump onto his bike in the latter parts of the Mosley fight.

But Margarito is relentless with superb stamina, you can't say the same thing about Oscar.

The Mosley that fought Margarito gives Cotto a brutal beating , I think Mosley was possessed by the spirit of Hearns that night . Had so much killer instinct in that fight .

Style makes fight, nope Mosley would still lose to Cotto. Do you think the punches that Mosley land on Margarito would land if Cotto backpedal?

There were variables in that fight that changed things...

One problem that some appear to having in this discussion is they are comparing what would be the best possible Cotto against the worst possible everyone else. Cotto hasn't been the same since the Toney fight, and I would think that's obvious for anyone to see. If the comparisons are going to be fair/legitimate you have to look at both fighters in the context of the time discussed. Cotto post Tony...is a B+ fighter, before that he was a pretty solid A fighter, never was he or is he on level with the truly elite guys, IMO. I love Cotto, love to watch him fight, have nothing but respect for him, but he just wasn't blessed with the gifts that some of the other guys were.

what's the point of this thread? so what if this hypothetical is true? I dont get it, everyone who follows the sport knows floyd's resume and knows his record with that resume. From that they can base their opinion of him, i dont see how throwing out a hypothetical would change that opinion in either direction.
