Charles, M. Spinks, Qawi, Tunney, Hearns, Hill, and even Roy Jones Jr. Who else?

At LHW he beat Tarver, Wright, Pavlik, and Pascal. He lost to Calzaghe in a fight many felt Hopkins won or at least fought even in. He drew with Pascal in their first fight but many felt Hopkins won.

    Loses to Charles.

Get roughed up against Qawi and loses

    Beats Hearns

    Beats Hill

    Beats Tunney

Hopkins now? Even Hopkins of 2006 does badly. The reason he succeeded with many guys is that those guys were not top fighters. Pascal is not a top skilled guy. Hopkins at this time in 2011 losses to all the guys above. He couldn't beat Taylor in 2005

Hearns of 1991 beats the Hopkins of 2011 by knockout. Hill outboxes him. Jones stops him. I am not understanding the question. Bernard of 2011 is not that good. He beat Pascal not Spinks of 1981.

Qwawi, Hearns and Hill (debatable) are not atg lhws. Charles, Spinks, Tunney and Jones beat him for sure. Qwawi outworks him. Hearns and Hill maybe his best choices. Prime Hill could edge him though, he was fast, mobile and had an excellent jab.

Too soon to ask this question. Hopkins only has two world class lhw victories. The other two were unfinished business from middleweight.

If hopkins goes on to beat dawson, cloud and unifies then we can have the conversation. But right now it's just too hard to gauge.

Pascal was terrible and BHop knew which is why he fought him. if BHop fights Dawson i take my hat off to him.. BHop has never beaten anyone other than a couple of blown-ups in Trinidad & ODLH.. he was beaten by Jermain Taylor, Winky Wright & Calzaghe and would not fare to well against the great Light Heavies

Definitely...he has profitted by fighting truly lousy fighters...and Jones was way past his best when they fought recently. Pavlik? Tarver?

???? These guys are mediocrities. One dimensional, insubstantial mediocrities...Hopkins deserves credit for beating them but that dosn't warrant Hopkins being so painfully overrated..modern day hysteria.

The old light-heavy Hopkins 2006 - 2011 loses to them all.

So does the middleweight Hopkins of the 90s and early 00s.

Amazing longevity on the guy, qualifies him as a great fighter - but overrated head-to-head, IMO.
