On the left we have defeated opponents of possible P4P NO.1 GOAT Jack Dempsey....and on the right we have defeated opponents of top 25 HW Lennox Lewis. Fell free to switch the matchups around. Who are you picking? Fat Willie Meehan vs Oliver McCall Fireman Flynn vs Hasim Rahman Jess Willard vs Mike Tyson Tommy Gibbons vs Evander Holyfield Jack Sharkey vs Vitali Klitchsko Luis Angel Firpo vs David Tua Georges Carpentier Vs Tony Tucker Billy Miske Vs Ray Mercer Bill Brennan Vs Frank Bruno Gunboat Smith Vs Tommy Morrison Fred Fulton Vs Donovan Ruddock Battling Levinsky Vs Andrew Golota
Fat Willie Meehan vs Oliver McCall Fireman Flynn vs Hasim Rahman Jess Willard vs Mike Tyson  Tommy Gibbons vs Evander Holyfield Jack Sharkey vs Vitali Klitchsko Luis Angel Firpo vs David Tua Georges Carpentier Vs Tony Tucker Billy Miske Vs Ray Mercer Bill Brennan Vs Frank Bruno Gunboat Smith Vs Tommy Morrison Fred Fulton Vs Donovan Ruddock Battling Levinsky Vs Andrew Golota Some of these are pretty close. Willard-Tyson could end up being the most boring awful fight ever fought.

How do you mean ? I think the rusty old Willard would probably outlast the washed-up shot-to-**** Tyson. Willard had more desire, and would rally against a gassing Tyson after taking some early lumps. And, yeah, it could well be dreary to watch. I mean, Lewis-Tyson wasn't exactly good, and Willard's even clumsier than Lennox.
I'm not going to speculate on the fighters I haven't seen .... so ... Fireman Flynn vs Hasim Rahman Jess Willard vs Mike Tyson Jack Sharkey vs Vitali Klitchsko Luis Angel Firpo vs David Tua Georges Carpentier Vs Tony Tucker Bill Brennan Vs Frank Bruno Tommy Gibbons vs Evander Holyfield ..... too close to call. This would go the distance. I see Gibbons being a horrible style for a 1999 Holyfield, especially the one-dimensional Holyfield of the first Lewis fight. Holyfield never looked great against fighters who would hang back and peck away with pot-shots, unwilling to fully engage. Probably a close disputed decision either way.
Based on the condition the fighters was in on fight-night. Fat Willie Meehan TKO5 - McCall breaks down crying again. Fireman Jim Flynn KO4 - Rahman goes over ropes ala Maskaev Jess Willard KO5 Shot`Mike Tyson re-run of McBride fight Tommy Gibbons PTS - Old Holyfield (42 of 49 press reporters at ringside had Holyfield clear winner) Jack Sharkey KO6 Vitali (headbutt opens cut on Vitali's eye fight stopped, Sharkey tells the whole boxing world he will rematch Vitali yet drags-out title reign for another 9 months unto 3 day's before due to be stripped of last remaining belt then announces retirement) Louis Angel Firpo KO7 - Tua comes in weighing 250lbs and is known as The Fattest man to ever fight for the title) Georges Carpentier PTS - Tucker the reformed junkie looks terrible and does not have the legs to mount any kind of offensive. Billy Miske Draw Ray Mercer - Mercer coming into the fight off a schooling from 42yr Larry Holmes and a brutal beating from Holyfield. Bill Brennan KO8 Bruno Gunboat Smith KO7 Morrison (Morrison coming into fight off one round hammering from Michael Bent is diagnosed HIV) Fred Fulton KO2 Ruddock (Razor now Damaged-Goods after two brutal beatings from Tyson, getting Jaw, Cheek-Bone & Eye-Socket smashed)
I'm being kind to Tua and Tucker giving them wins over Firpo and Carpentier. I remember Tucker looked awful against the puffed-up light-heavy journeyman Frankie Swindell just 6 months before he faced Lewis. But I'll give him the benefit of the doubt and give him a win over little Carpentier Tua I'll give a KO win over Firpo, simply because he had shorter more compact punches and a good chin. Firpo was crude, but he had 10 x more heart than the Tua who sleepwalked his big title fight with Lewis, and Firpo was a hard guy to keep down. I give Tua the benefit of the doubt and reckon his chin and punching will be enough to finish matters before Firpo's relentlessness makes him quit fighting. I have to be good to the Dempsey-hating Lewis-hugging Pachilles sometimes, after all. :good
I think the opposition of Lewis triumphs in every fight here, with the way you matched them up. Although over 4 round Meehan shows McCall how to box and stinks a decision.
I think a prime Sharkey could present a lot of problems to Vitali as long as he doesn't get caught. He was similarly elusive as Chris Byrd, but possessed better offense.
