Adamek- taking a page out the Holyfield book he has moved up in weight and is an undersized heavyweight taking on the giants. He has a big heart, quick feet, and fast hands. He is a fun fighter to watch and has been very active since moving up taking on many foes while getting accustomed to the weight. detractors- size, looked hurt vs Arreola and Grant, and struggled to finish the fight vs Estrada Povetkin- had a meteoric rise very similar to Shumenov taking on many hard foes in his first 10 fights got a title shot very quickly but got hurt and has fought weaker opposition than he faced on his way to earning contention. His physique has improved and he is working on his game detractors- has not taken the title fight, is he ready? i dont think so? but he is getting older and older he cant wait much longer especially with guys like Helenius and Puleev and other moving up the ranks Chagaev- a former title holder has been derailed by his health but has performed very well when healthy. He has beaten world champs Ruiz and Valuev not the 2 best guys to ever hold a title but they are not an easy fight by any means. He also beat up Kali Meehan to earn a shot at Haye that Haye is avoiding but for the better as a Klitschko showdown looms in the horizon. detractors- his health for one thing it prevents fights. Haye wont leave England and Chagaev is the mandatory but they arent forcing Haye to fight him, the health also keeps him largely inactive another detractor is he already got pounded by Wlad Klitschko and doesnt seem like he could win a rematch Solis- Deep amateur pedigree and some good tools like fast hands accurate punching and power. He also can take a punch pretty well. He is in his prime and is up in the ranks detractors- failed in his only shot and suffered a severe injury which will shelf him. his weight is a problem and an injured knee will keep him from road work and training and his weight will go up. and while he sits out others will capitalize including fast risers like Helenius. Arreola- A fast handed and accurate power puncher with a wide variety of shots who can take a punch. He gave Vitali the hardest fight of his comeback and Adamek the toughest fight of his heavyweight campaign. He is on the comeback trail staying active and losing weight Detractors- he is a hand breaker, and his competition is so weak its hard to tell if he is really improving. He is also easy to hit Chambers- the American Heavyweight with the thickest resume worked his way to a Klitschko fight and lost. But he is coming back and is in position to fight Thompson to get his rematch. I believe he beats Thompson but who knows. Detractors- small, no power, and did very little vs Wlad and was KO'd he has hit a ceiling with no where else to go
Chambers or Thompson. Would have voted Adamek but after that shitfest against McBride I cannot say he is.
Nice OP. Spot on quick tour of the HW hoper. NO bashing no nuthugging. As for the question (was there a question?), Solis may be the best but it's not like he'S far ahead of the others.
Everyone quick to point out who is WITHOUT a belt, but funny how one that is unexpected to OWN a belt (Rahman, Seldon, Bruno) is a total BUM. Shows how boxing thinks. Good names in the list BTW, nothing at all against them, I'm just sayin... The fellas that get the belts should earn a bit more respect wether it be a week or 5 months, or more...they got them belts. Meanwhile Audley tryin to win rounds by throwing no punches...
