Timothy Bradley speaks out on why he decided to reject the Amir Khan fight deal at this stage of his career and also talks about the troubling situation with his promoter Gary Shaw.

    Some quotes from Timothy Bradley:

"(laughter) You better stop playing with me, ain't nobody scared of no dang Amir Khan, man. You know this

    game is a business, man"

"Well I'm looking at doing it [the Khan fight] maybe the end of the year or probably next year. I still think the fight is too premature."

"A lot of people say it's great money. Man, at the end of the day it's still really risky. At the end of the day, let's say I lose the fight, what happens then? I'm out of the sweepstakes with Mayweather or Manny Pacquiao" (streamlined quote)

Dude's holding out on a money fight to get another money fight?

Win your money fight first, dawg.

    Baby steps, little man.

but if he wins he will up his chances for a pac/mayweather fight and will be worth more for them to fight, and would able to demand a much better purse. no risk, no reward as they say. this is ***** **** what he's doing, straight out of a floyd mayweather handbook on taking the path of least resistence to protect your record

If he can get a guaranteed 1.2 million from HBO for his next fight get Gary Shaw out the way then fight Amir Khan for even bigger money after that or Pacquiao/Mayweather who can blame him? We're all human it's not like he's 35 on his last stand he's 27 years old with time on his side.

He pussied out. If he beat Amir Khan he'd be a front runner for Mayweather/Pac. He obviously feels he won't beat Amir or Pac and manyweather so wants to cash out with the bigger paycheck.

I definitely don't blame Bradley. Blame HBO and Cameron Dunkin. One, HBO shouldn't have guaranteed a fight for Bradley against anybody for 1.2 million and blame Dunkin for doing his job....being a manager. He pretty said, "Hey, take a break for your next fight. You are getting 1.2 mil anyway, why waste that on a big time fighter like Khan,"

Makes all the sense in the world, as a fan it sucks. No doubt, but if boxing were bigger which it should be, then the money would be bigger. So, instead fighters have to settle for okay how can I make the most out of my career, establishing a legacy, and making the most amount of money.

Plus, you can say he deserves a break. He has fought the best. Fact, he's fought all comers since 2007 8 fights. 8 straight tough fights where there was a big risk. He's done his job, now wants bigger and better things.

All in all, he wants to get rid of Shaw. He wants to get with GBP or Top Rank. Nothing wrong with that. Wants to get the most bang for his buck. Makes all the sense for him, but again as a fan it does suck, but I can't blame him for this new route he's taking.

    ***** move.

He shouldnt have to care about the business side if he has trust in his own abilities...Which he clearly doesnt. Khan > Bradley

Bradley is a damn fool - he has lost my respect for this.

Hopefully Pac does fight him and brutally knocks this turtle head out.

People like Bradley give boxing a bad name.

Pac and Floyd are being challenged by these fighters just for the money. Heck he's afraid of losing to Khan!??! what makes him think he'd win against the cash cows of boxing?!??...oh it doesnt matter...he's getting payed bigtime!!!

OKAY . . . so he's not confident that he can beat Khan. :D

And what makes him think he'll get a shot at Pac and Mayflower if he stays undefeated ? :rofl

I hate this quote only because it goes against everything Bradley said he stood for. He was all about taking chances and not fussing too much about his undefeated record. Why's he talking about losing? Does he not know Khan could drop out of the sweepstakes as well? Yet we don't hear Khan backing out of a fight. Bradley risking his opportunity to fight Pac or Floyd has always been apparent. He sure as hell didn't complain when he was slated to fight Alexander, which happened to be even more premature (or earlier than what a lot people expected) than his fight with Khan. Bradley beating Khan would bolster his name value. The glass should be half full, not empty.

Since we're getting Haye-Klit this Summer I guess I don't mind seeing Khan-Bradley later this year. I just don't like the fact that Bradley has gotten yellow all of a sudden. He won't admit it but it's obvious.

His decision is set...he'll join TR and with an undefeated record will be given three to five times as much to fight Pac. He tells it like it is and in a manner that's refreshing in not being insulting to the fan's intelligence, conceding of the high risk Khan presents. If he wants the big bucks, he need to fight the Pacman. If he wants a chance in becoming a legend, he needs a chance to be the one to beat up on and win against the Pacman.

That's a duck if ever I saw one, he is more or less admitting to it as well!! "What if I don't beat Khan??" what boxer would say that about a potential opponent???? How do you sell a fighter like that? who has no confidence going up against the top guys in his division?

If he's not confident about beating Khan, why in the hell would he be awarded a fight against pac or Mayweather? They would laugh him off.

I can understand where he's coming from and I don't think he's 'scared' or anything, but he needs to deserve that spot and work his way up. There's no easy way to become a superstar. You become better through fighting the hard fights, and by the time you're in the running for a real superfight, you have both the experience and the fanbase to give you what you need both in the ring and moneywise.
