Oh and for the guys Calzaghe only fought at home. I remember him traveling to Germany and knocking out Mario Veith in his backyard.
Even though Ottke was the MAN at 168, Joe didn't want none. Instead he wanted to cash in on his belt in Wales.
Will there be an exciting ATG Tribute thread featuring a black fighter anytime soon? Or any ethnicity other than white European? :think **** thread by the way, Ottke was a mediocrity who thrived on hometown gift decisions. :good
in this instance i would say: "ottke's team wanted no part of calzaghe because he was too high risk/low reward while calzaghe's team actually wanted this fight to be made cos ottke is perfect for calzaghe stylewise & everyone knew it". i certainly would never say what you did: "joe didn't want none". cos that is bollocks.
Lord Ottke was the man who made me want to lace em up, a true hero and technical powerhouse of the sport.
He turned down a big offer to fight Ottke in Germany opting to fight his usual 'challengers' in Wales. So basically he didn't want to prove himself against the best untill much later in his career.
calzaghe "turned down" a fight with ottke in germany? to fight his "usual challengers"? source or stfu.
