Listen Tits, I didnt fault anyone for not fighting outside their own country twat, just noted there was nothing wrong with Ottke not fighting outside his and compared Ottkes resume for not defending outside Germany to modern great Hopkins for not defending outside America. Thats not bias.
I was saying why should Ottke have to fight in America, its so bias that Americans think foreign fighters have to fight in America

Personally I feel the champ has a right to fight where they want even if it's a home just as long as they face good competition. Still when you have multiple legitimate champs it's hard to say where they should fight. Another reason why I hate multiple belts.

As far as being an ATG, I don't know about that because of the lack of worthy opposition. I'm even skeptical with considering Calzaghe an ATG but he had his step ups against Kessler, Reid, and Lacy but that may not be enough especially considering that he got a questionable decision against Hopkins and went out beating a fossil in Jones instead of the younger Dawson who he could've destroyed. Ottke/Calzaghe should've happened no doubt though I feel Calzaghe would outwork him.

Bias by you again as we could say how can Hopkins be a great if he was beaten by Calzaghe, who you dont think is a great

It is said that Ottke will most likely be remembered for getting that gift in the Reid fight but he was a good fighter regardless. I haven't got the chance to see much of him on yt but there is some of Erdei & Dariusz that I will go through soon. :good I look forward to Erdei & Dariusz threads from you.

Bailey, no need to insult and be childish I didn't come hear trying to rain on anyone's parade and I gave props to Ottke and Calzaghe. My post was pretty objective.

If Ottke is underrated, it is mostly his fault. He fought only in Germany, chosed a division that wasn't particularly strong (especially if you count out Calzaghe as Ottke had no desire to fight him) and still needed judges help to keep his "0" (on more than one ocassion).

Very good fighter? Yes.
ATG? Definitely not.

I'd say this is about as fair a post as one needs to get on Ottke. Good fighter, nothing special. Bailey is just kissing his ass because Ottke's Euro.

Sven Ottke should be appreciated more than he is, in my opinion.
Read on...

1. It was only Ottkes 13th fight when he won a world title

Consider how A Ward is raved about. Ward has had 24 fights, by this time Ottke had made 11 defences.
If Johnson beats Froch he will be in the S6 finals and if Ward was to beat Johnson it would be considered a big win, but Ottke beat Johnson at SMW back in 99.

2. Ottke made 21 title defences and was a winner of 22 world title fights

Consider how Hopkins MW reign is thought to be special yet Ottke had more SMW title victories than Hopkins had MW victories and overall fought better opposition

3. Ottkes reign was impressive when you consider he wasnt a puncher and didnt have an equalizer in his fists.
