Top 10 Jr. MW.... loses at MW, undefeated at JR MW... Good fight.... Not gonna be easy but should show some of Canelo attributes which will continue to improve. Hatton fight sucks because Canelo had a re hydration clause, also hatton did not want to open up so canelo had to create opening by allowing hatton some shots... not a good gauge on his defense....as other fights the defense has been quite well.
For all you who just want to say "Rhodes is a bum" let me tell you this. He is not a bum, just someone who does not always perform to his best,but at his best (and recently he has been) he is elusive, has quite good power and can really box. I have wathced quite a lot of his fights and more so recently have been impressed with what i have seen. With that said i think Canelo will be too much for him, but its the perfect fight for Canelo to test the waters against a live opponent. I am very excited about this one, and think canelos handlers have picked a perfect fight for him at this stage in his career. Trust me, he is not getting wiped out early, and he will help us answer some questions about Canelo which we need answering. Great fight IMO.
Ryan switch hits as well switch hits wich may give Alvarez problems. he hasnt been in with the names canelo has but hes a live dog in the fight thats for sure. I probably have Alvarez a 60/40 faviourte but make no mistake Ryan has nothing to feat Alvarez has decent power and puts hit shots together well but he can look a little pedestrian at times and we havent seen him take to many shots from someone of a simelar size - the fact that against hatton Alvarez had to have everything in his favour in terms of weight etc leads me to belive behind the scenes there are a few doubts about him
Canelo stinks, just like JCC jr and all the overrated Mexican fighters that the desperate Mexican public goes crazy over because the indigenous population is insecure and must latch on to sports heroes for self-worth. Having said that Canelo-Rhodes will be competitive because neither fighter is very impressive.
Rhodes is a disgrace and should've retired after going 12 tough rounds, win or lose, to G. Lockett. IF Canelo doesn't get rid of this tomato can in five rounds he's through as a marketable fighter.
