Floyds done a fair bit but he may well be remembered for bailing out of a hot WW division in 2006 and retiring with williams, cotto, mosley and cheato all looking for fights and the guy retires, and now all the problems making the fight with pac, the problem with floyd is that he likes to have everything in line perfectly for him and just wont do it otherwise

Barry Sander, IMHO, is the greatest running back in history (yes Jim Brown for most of the world).

Did you know Barry Sanders also has the most runs with negative yards? Meaning? Meaning he took risks (and often failed) to be at least considered the greatest RB in history. He did not take the +1 yard run like Emmit did. He always went for broke.

Awesome runner in a team with horrendous O-line and passing. Jordan had Pippen. Ruth had Gehrig. Woods has his caddy. Jimmy Johnson the best pit crew.

Sanders only has his own legs and smarts.

dont take it so personally, jr.

And yes, Floyd absolutely could have been much better, and this is coming from someone that isnt a Floyd hater. His skills are downright awe inspiring, and whether you want to acknowledge it or not, if things persist as they are all his records and success in multiple weight classes, and defensive prowess will be overshadowed.

He will be remembered chiefly by the masses as someone that ducked out when things got hot. As someone that didnt rise to the biggest challenges. As someone that cared nothing for his legacy (well I guess hes already made it clear the last point is true, hes in the business of "stealing money" or however he put it).

Its just sad, the man deserves better then to go out like this, and any Floyd fan should agree with that.

No it is not. 41 and 0 does not mean you used 100% of your potential. PBF could be top 10, if not top 5 by now. Imagine Cotto, Margarito, Pac, younger Mosley, Sergio Martinez and Tszyu in his resume now. He would sky rocket to top 10-15 with that resume, especially the way he wins it (technical dominating UD).

I don't think he is a wasted talent. But he could have a much superior resume by now.

Definitely a waste of talent. Between castillo and baldomir he went on a series of ridiculous mismatches. After hatton he retired from boxing's deepest division.

Add freitas, casamayor, tzyu, cotto, clottey, margo, williams and pac and you have a guy worthy of the top 25. As it is he's top 50 assuming he stays retired again.

Some other wastes are tyson and vitali. Both had potential to be goat heavyweight imo and both failed miserably.

As a huge fan of his I'll say it is a waste of talent when I could name an endless list of fighters he could and should have fought. If there was no one to fight then it's understandable but when there's a long list of names he should have fought then it is a waste of talent. His retirement was totally random and pointless, he retired when the division was rich and it is still rich with big names many would pay to watch him fight if he doesn't want the biggest fight(possibly of all-time) against Pacquiao.

How the fukk is it a "waste of talent" when he has 41 wins no defeats

One of the biggest earners all time

    Definitely top 50 ATG

    Won countless belts

    Jumped numerous divisons and won

Regarded as one of the best defensive fighters all time

Considered one of the best talents all time

How is this a waste of talent?????? if you want him to do more...sure....a waste...WTF? A waste is him not even taking part in boxing but electing to be a troll on ESB...that's a waste!

Mayweather didnt beat anyone to get to 41-0. I mean he cherrypicked Genaro Hernandez, Diego Corrales, Jose Luis Castillo, Ricky Hatton, Oscar De La Hoya and Shane Mosley. Nobody wanted to see those fights.

His fight with Oscar did 2 buys. EVERYONE knew Floyd was cherrypicking Oscar. Same with Mosley. That only did a half a buy. I dont think anyone watched the Hatton fight.

There have been much bigger wastes of talent. However, Floyd wasted hia prime. From the moment he went to 140 to the Judag fight, then again after. Waste of the prime years of his life. Floyd will be an ATG. But he's one most think COULD have been higher, if only he had the balls to take risks as many other ATG's have done to solidify their greatness.

Another thing, the names of guys in or around FLoyd's weight over his career that he DID NOT FIGHT puts a lot into light.
