Thank you for supporting to my argument. Regarded as one of the best defensive fighters all time. Considered one of the best talents all time...only to be a top 50 ATG?

Do you see a problem with that? I certainly do. With his defensive abilities & talent, he could have accomplished a lot more and be ranked higher. He had the fighters around him to make it happen too.

When you fail to reach your true potential...for Mayweather, he had the potential to be top 10 ATG...then it's a waste of talent.

I'm not trying to assign blame.

With the ability she showed against corales, castillo, hoya and hatton we can definitely say he was capable of beating a better calibre of fighters than those he did fight between castillo and baldomir.

This guy seemed like the complete package in his prime and was easily capable of a top ten position considering the talent around. As it is he's probably gonna be top 50.

That for me is a waste of talent.

That is not a waste of talent clown....you just want him to do more.

Top 50 ATG.....is a waste of talent...are you fukkin kidding me????

A waste of talent is someone who does not use their talent at all to be succesful.

He obviously is succesful and one of the best ever to use his talents...that is not a waste.....maybe he could have done more with his talent but he certainly did not waste his talent.

Well said! The sad thing, most of these fanboys see that as some form of insult. It's not. If anything, it's a testament of how great he could have been.

    That's the very definition!!

If Jordan went to the CBA rather than the NBA wouldn't that be a waste of talent?

I don't define could have done more as a waste of talent. When you don't do **** with your talent then it is a waste. Floyd still is a hall of famer and still an atg. Plus his career isn't over yet. The Manny fight will happen.

hes a great fighter and has accomplished his share of feats

his ability in the ring and his training is also tremendous

yes there were guys he didnt fight

and yes he retired at his peak he was the best guy by a long shot and had many fights to make and a legacy to build and i guess had enough or thought he did more than he thought and guessed he was more solid and established

but after a year of retirement i guess he wasnt happy with his legacy and that people were not as interested in him any more

his comeback has only been two fights over two or three years

he is not a waste but kind of blew the end of his career when he wwas at his highest and his antics are helping him fall out of touch with many fans

If Usain Bolt only became a top 10 runner instead of being the best, he would be considered a waste of talent. Some people have the ability to become the absolute best. Why be top 50 when you can be top 10? Because Floyd was happy about just being in the top 50 instead of the top 10.

:huh If you don't use your talents to their highest potential, you've wasted them to an extent. Look, it's not an insult to Floyd to say that. WOn't kill you to reacogize he COULS have done more. :D

WOW.....because you want him to do more or think he can do more...he's wasted his talent but yet....everything he's done and his achievements suggests he has capitalized on his talents.

Lets get this straight. Most fighters could have done more in their careers. This **** is dumb

SRR could have won the light heavyweight title or fought Charley Burley. Also he could have not retired the first time.

Sugar Ray Leonard could have fought Aaron Pryor

Duran could have trained harder for the Leonard rematched and not retired afterward

Morales could have taken better care of himself in between fights

Pacquiao could fight Martinez and win a 9th title or could have fought Margarito or Mosley when they were the man at welterweight or Casamayor or a better belt holder than David Diaz

You will NOT make a dent in some of the floyd fanboys on this site no matter how clearly you spell it out, or how many examples you use. ****, him beating up women didn't change **** on how they love and support him. :-(

It is an insult jackass. Because you could make the same statement for every great fighter that has ever lived.

Sugar Ray Leonard would be top 10 if he wouldnt have retired after Hearns, rematched a prime Hearns and Duran, beat Aaron Pryor, beat a prime Hagler instead of the severly faded version, and dominated welterweight and light middlweight for the decade.

Duran could have been top 5 if he trained harder. Pacquiao could be top ten if he took a blood test. Roy Jones Jr could have been top 10 if he fought Dariusz, rematched Hopkins, and fought Mike Tyson and Lennox Lewis at heavyweight.

Seriously who cant you do this nonsense with in boxing history?
