I like Froch and I rate him, but I think there's only a debate over who won the fight because a lot of UK fans seem to be obsessed with hatred of black American fighters. Dirrell won the fight clearly, and it was a flat-out hometown robbery. Froch achieved absolutely nothing in that fight. Dirrell's tactics were at times a bit unsavoury, but he still did all the better work.
It was a poor fight & I wont be rushing to rewatch it anytime soon If the fight was held outside of England then Dirrell would probably have won the decision But it wasnt & imho an sd is the correct result for a close contest which was a terrible spectacle
Dirrell is a ***** who has no business in the ring, he aint fit to hold the cobras jockstrap He was about to get knocked out against AA, falling on the floor every 20 seconds before deciding to feign a KO, absolutely pathetic and a disgrace to boxing. Froch showed Dirrell how a real man deals with Abraham
So easy to throw in the "racist card"............... Fans don't "hate" Dirrell for his color, but for his prefights interview and his cowardly fighting style. England is a proud country. The tradition is hard work, and thats why the Premier League is the fastest and toughest in the world. Fans demands action. Do you honestly believe, that if Froch as a challenger fought the champ Dirrell in US in the same way Dirrell fought, Froch would have been given the victory...??
6 rounds each i had it and a points deduction = Froch win, You don't win a title by running in a close fight
atsch You're a spastic, dont talk about things you got no clue about. Black American fighters are some of the most respected in England over the years, real warriors though not little girls like Dirrell
i dont think the prem league is the fastest and toughest in the world..its 2nd yes but not 1st..dirrel lost the fight due to his bad tactics and the crowd.same way grooves beat degale.bad tactics from degale and the crowd cheering every arm and glove punch groves thru
Yes agreed the crowd did help a lot but Dirrells bizarre behavour did not help his cause. I had Dirrell maybe winning it by a round or 2 but if your fighting in the lions den, you have to make it more dicisive, which i think he could have. Bottom line is hes too scared to get hit sometimes and thats why he was so defensive in the early part of the fight. Later on in the fight he looked a lot better and it made you wonder why he didnt do it from the beggining. The only reason i can think of was he was scared of Frochs power.....
Because many people are simpletons and it's easy to score on workrate opposed to the correct scoring criteria used by any logical fan. I respect Froch more easily but no way he won and there's other examples too.(DLH/Mayweather, Hopkins/Calzaghe) To the OP, yes Dirrell looked good defensively and the few times when he opened up but I saw no traces of Whitaker or Jones at their high points in him. Dirrell's footwork was too horrible to be compared to theirs.
So you now, you simply win a fight by forcing a fight and landing clean punches to the back of the head and the air ??:nono. A boxing match must be won by the one who landed the Cleaner and more effective punches not the one who pressed the action and hit the air.
Correct. Many so called "boxing fans" get too emotional and/or biased for or against a fighter and fail to score objectively and that's why you have many cards scoring for Froch. If wrestling with your opponent and clearly missing punches wins fights then Froch would've won but that's not the case. I like also how people complain of Ward's tactics but never bring up Froch's tactics against Dirrell but to be fair to Froch, Ward has been dirty in EVERY fight I've seen of him from Kessler-Abraham(slipped in a headbutt). Froch to my limited knowledge of him has only been dirty against Pascal & Dirrell. Him and Ward would be a scrap no doubt as neither back down and neither shy away from bending the rules.
me and my dad when we watched this fight had this either a decision for dirrell or a draw but no way did i think froch won this fight by any means..he barely touched him except when he was fouling dirrell...however dirrell was fighting somewhat negatively...almost spoiling even..but he managed to rock froch good plenty of time during that fight...thats why i didnt feel too bad when he lost his 0 and title to kessler in the next round (even though i thought kessler did do enough to win it; didn't agree with the judges scores though)
Actually after Froch brought Dirrells name up again (he cant let it go because he knows he lost) Dirrell said he'd fight him, and that he's the last person Froch would ever want to fight. Because as we all know the fight would be held in the USA and Froch without his illegal tactics would get dominated.
