    Ok Ok,
So you guys have RJJ and Pernell Whitaker above Pacquiao on your ATG-lists, good for you :tired
I mean Sweet Pea, okay, i get it if you really hate Pacquiao and are into slick afro-americans.
    But RJJ?
Get the **** outta here, thats embarrassing...:patsch

Personally I would rank Sweet Pea above Lennox, but it's damn close...
But he should definitely be on that list, yes.:good

Whitaker for me, although "top fighter" is a pretty ambiguous set of criteria.

There are a few names not on the list that I'm sure other fans will throw out there - Lewis, Tyson, Calzaghe, ODLH, Hopkins, K2.

I agree with whoever said that Boxing would be boring if everyone had the same opinion.

If by "top fighter" OP meant favourite fighter I apologize.
But I think he meant highest ranking ATG-wise and that should clearly be Pacquiao imo ainec.

I thought the ts meant best fighter based on skills, if resume and accomplishes and included its between pac and whitaker, I think they are rated closely together nowadays so both answers are good then.

I can't believe anyone voted floyd. Jones isn't a bad shout but I think he's a clear number 3 on the list.

It's close between sweet pea and pac.

I think pac will surpass pea if he can secure championship status in a record breaking (his own record by my reckoning) 5th division.

But as it stands I have pea ahead by a whisker, he ruled over lightweight and welterweight from 87 to 97. He had a superb mix of fundamentals and athleticism that hasn't been seen since.

Pac is maybe 1 or 2 victories behind him imo. Ruling from featherweight to almost welterweight is amazing and altho I don't blame him for floyd not happening it is still against him that the fight didn't happen because they were the top two and didn't fight. I'd say the only thing stopping me putting pac above pea atm is the fact that pac didn't establish linearity at lightweight nor welter, but he's damn close to overtaking him.

It's not ridiculous to vote Floyd. The winner of a fight between him and Pac will probably occupy the higher ATG ranking out of the two.

Whitaker or RJJ, bit surprising you left Hopkins off when you've included both Pacquiao and Mayweather.

    ATG:

    Whitaker
    Pacquiao
Chavez/Jones/Hopkins (very difficult to separate them, but if pushed I'd say JCC is top of the three)
    Mayweather

in my time watching boxing, it's Pac, followed by Roy Jones.

whitaker in his prime was a little before i started following the sport heavily.

can anyone tell me why whitaker didn't fight chavez at 140? he skipped him while picking up one of the belts which belonged to chavez against rafael pineda. he fought him at 147 as the fans demanded like you say. sounds similar to what happened with mayweather and hatton

He spent all of 92 in the lww division so it clearly would have been been better to face him then.

I think when chavez did step up he was the number 1 p4p and a favourite to win.
