Boxing's integrity is in doubt because of non-existent doping control . . .

not because of boxers making accusations about other fighters.

Whether or not you agree with a fighter publically accusing another of doping, the fact is that if there was sufficient measures in place to prevent this form of cheating then these accusations would hold no water. However, there is virtually nothing in place to stop this cheating and as such doubts can be raised in people's minds.

Boxing is one of the most brutal, dangerous and financially rewarding sports in the world - yet its drug testing is little more than a token gesture that anyone but the most incompetent of PED users can evade.

In many other sports, such as athletics, there is a confidence that the governing bodies are doing everything they can to catch dopers. This confidence just doesn't exist in boxing, and until it does then kind of accusations will always be about.

Unfortunately we are fans of one of the most crooked and politically corrupt sports in the world, so I wouldn't hold your breath.

I'm not aware of this sport called "Athletics."

After the champions ship fights, the fighters are tested, aren´t they?

What makes you say that in other sports they are doing more in doping control?

Were Barca´s players tested after they won the Champions Cup? Were Nadal tested after his last win?

    This **** is ****ing gay.

Berto sayin **** after he shows his ass, and lack of heart. This ****ing guy, and all others like him are clowns.

There isn't a international organization, and even if there was, there would be ways to beat it. So, this whole **** is ridiculous. Boxing is dying

That entire Barcelona team is subject to completely random, all year round drug testing. I'm sure Nadal is the same, I know Usain Bolt has to be available for random drug testing, 24/7 all year, and I think that goes for the entire top ten ranked athletes.

Until there is one governing body, who can carry out random drug testing on the top ten ranked fighters in each division then the sport will never be clean. And that aint EVER happening

Ortiz had been fighting at 140 lbs......

......In his first fight at 147 lbs, he walks into the ring looking physically great at 165 lbs, and we're supposed to turn the other way and not be remotely suspicious of anything?

Now Berto is insinuating that Ortiz may have cheated.

......and like the thread starter said, the possibility exists that more and more fighters will start to make such insinuative claims after they lose fights, like Berto did.

The US Government stepped in and put a halt to the free steroid era of baseball......
.....unfortunately it looks like they will have to to the same with boxing because boxing is unwilling to help itself in this situation.

Its an unfortunate situation because fighters health is involved with these PED freaks being allowed to climb rings to do their damage.

If there was a sport to step in and put a halt to athletes trying to physically get better through artificial means, it would be combat sports.

Unfortunately the fan itself is a great part of the problem. They'd rather see the pure unadulterated physical destruction of another fighter, than the science and craft of the sport.:?

All of the sports he mentioned apart from boxing are subject to random drug testing. Boxing has one test after the fight, if you know when your test is then you can take what you like and then cycle off when your test approaches.

If you really think that one post fight drug test is any Ideterrant whatsoever then you are very naive. The truth is boxers have free reign to take whatever substances they like, and lot most likely do.

Who cares about testing after a fight?

It has been said REPEATEDLY that TRAINING under the influence of steroids is the issue and that they are EASILY cycled out of the system by fight time. The time for random testing is through the year and even more stringent testing is in camps. That is where guys are getting the gains from.

So can someone please tell me why morons keep fronting as though a post fight test matters? Ugh. Makes you wonder how dumb the average Boxing fan is.

Yup, it happened in baseball when Jose Consaco came out and accused several baseball players of using steroids and everyone in the media and fans told him to go to hell. As it turned out he was right in every accusation he made.

I would like to know what the MLB testing procedures are like compared to boxing. Are they comparable? I know MLB has taking lots of steps in ensuring it rids MLB of PEDs.

We have to keep in mind that these boxing boards have become infestated with *******s, so as long as Pacroid is still going strong, the *******, which means a great many of members in boxing boards like these, will be against better PED testing methods.
