Thats bull****. Some fights he DID deserve the nod but he has actually lost fights he deserved to lose.

Thats the reason I hate to see Johnson lose, I hate hearing his "how dey do dis to me, I am an old man, I won dis fight," bull****.

Good points, but i'd argue that Frochs never been in serious trouble or hurt by a single shot. The knockdown against Taylor was a combination of poor footwork and bad balance,as soon as he went down he wiped his gloves, acknowledged the ref and his corner and followed the count,he was certainly buzzed by Dirrell and Kessler, and also ate a couple of Abrahams punches in the 12th,but he's never done the funny dance along ***** street.
Having said all this, when Johnson has his man in trouble,he's a lethal finisher, and as granite chinned as Froch is,anybody can be KO'd or TKO'd no matter how tough.

10 months ago, GJ threw more punches than cloud at lhw. i think his body has done well with the lesser weight. look what the drop did for randy couture. prolonged his career by five years. toyed with a prime tito.

cobra has arguably lost to kessler, dirrell and was about to lose to a semi-shot JT.

GJ at +300 is a live dog here.

cobra at-450 is way too long.

I highly doubt either Froch or Johnson win by KO. In a lot of threads I've seen I think Froch's power has been a bit overstated. Since Froch has fought at the world level he's knocked down 1 fighter....and that was Jermaine Taylor. So in the span of 5 fights he's gotten 1 knockdown. I highly doubt he knocks out a guy whos never touched canvas.

I expect this fight to be close. Abraham aside, Froch really isn't a boxer (even though he can. I don't put too much stock into Froch being a born-again boxer thought ....I think when the fight gets brought to him (whether by Johnson or another fighter) Froch will get dragged into a brawl. In short, I think thoughts that Froch is going to simply dominate Johnson from a boxing standpoint needs to be tempered with reminders that he has been in a LOT of close fights prior to Abraham (and so has Johnson....not surprisingly, I suspect this to be close). I think Johnson is going to be able to effectively work Froch's body in an attempt to take the gas out of him. I think Johnson will actually be able to wobble Froch with his overhand right at some point in the fight as well.

If you think I'm being overly biased towards Johnson....

Johnson is getting old. He clearly doesn't fight with the same manner he used to (if you need a reminder, youtube Glen Johnson vs. Clinton Woods and then Glen Johnson vs. Yusef Mack). He's volume has gone down. His pressure isn't quite the epic pressure he brought in some of his fights in his mid 30s. In some ways I think he's better for it, like he's reverted back to a more patient boxer puncher where his roots are. But against a high volume puncher like Froch I think it will work against him. Johnson did throw more punches than Cloud if I recall rightly, but I wonder how much of that was based upon the 9th round where Johnson threw nearly 100 punches (mostly light punches with no steam on them) and Cloud seemed to be taking the round off or trying to end Johnson with 1 punch.

Once again, I think it's going to be a close fight with Froch getting the decision. I just think the way both guys fight is conducive to a close, awesome fight.

Great Post:good. I feel the same way but think as soon as froch get's wobbled, he will be finished. Glen throws a straight overhand punch also (I know it sounds funny but check the film). He threw that punch for RJJ like it was special. It is designed to go over a fighters shoulder who holds thier left hand low and tucks thier chin into thier shoulder. The form looks terrible but I think it was for those type of guys who keep that lead hand low. It is definately not a normal punch.

I know he isn't as intense with his footwork as he was at this time but you can see that punch I'm talking about being thrown repeatedly for RJJ. Froch does the same thing as RJJ with has left arm low and this same punch will find him ALL NIGHT LONG. Aside from that, I just do not see froch hitting glen with anything he does not see coming. Froch on the other hand will be gettin hit with those unseen shots from glen. Froch will try to take turns but glen will be butting in on Froch's turn to swing and that will be the downfall.

Clinton Woods is Britain's greatest light heavyweight in the last 30 years.

I see this one going 12, with Froch pulling out the decision on another Johnson close-call, where he thought he got robbed. Froch is deceptively sneaky, Johnson won't hit clean very often.

Tbh i find it amusing that the most vocal ppl in all these anti froch or froch will lose threads for his last couple of fights are often the people defending dirrell in dirrell related threads.

Very true. Johnson and Hopkins are by far the worst offenders in this department

:patsch Calzaghe has a better LHW resume in 2 fights than Woods does in all his world title fights combined
