applies to both of them, i guess. no adequate scouting before the fight being on short notice. but, pac's speed and power just overwhelmed ledgwaba
when pacquiao won his first major title most pinoys didn't care because they have their own champion already in the person of luisito espinosa. but the transition from espinosa to pacquaio was perfect. and first time the whole philippines saw him was through abs-cbn's blow by blow, a weekly boxing show featuring upcoming fighters.
I was a big fan of Espinosa and yeah he was my top Pinoy fighter back then. Jesus Salud was also a favorite and Brian Villoria was supposed to be the next big thing. Anyone remember Rolando 'Jojo' Pascua? Man... I was there at the GW Forum when he KO'd the great Humberto Gonzalez. Probably one of the biggest accomplishments from a Pinoy fighter in boxing during that time.
In 2008 he started to come to my spinach store, buying mostly canned spinach, often cleaning out the shelves of it, complaining that he suffered from a distinct dissatisfaction with his forearms and that the iron would help.
in blow by blow where he beats almost all of his opponents via knockout before the 1st round ends. crazy left and relentless attack.
I first learnt of Pacquiao when I played FNR3. He was the weakest featherweight in the game and I picked him to beat my dad when he was using a Middleweight Jake Lamotta to make it a fairer fight (he is honestly ****). After that, I think I was caught by the Pacquiao/Marquez II hype on Setanta after I watched my first boxing match in December (Hatton/Mayweather). I became a fan from then on.
Much of a muchness I guess bro BUT like I said my coach would never make and excuse he is rather happy and privileged to have faced the best fighter on the planet in his career!!
Well I saw him in a filipino movie (he wasn't the main guy in the movie as he was not the God he is now in the Philippines at the time). In the movie his group got into a fight with another group. When I saw him fighting in the movie, I was like "this guy looks like he really knows how to fight, he must be a boxer or something." Sure enough about a week later I saw him fight Barrera, who I knew was a badass because I saw him fight and beat Hamed. I've followed Pac since that fight.
I've never watched a boxing match and then my friend forced me to watched pac vs oscar. what a beast! :happy [yt]7OAtnXFdtcY[/yt]
