You think Pacquiao is better than Whitaker ?

People have terribly short memories on here.

Manny came too long after 1985 for me to consider him the best out of all of them, but he fought with more commitment than all the others. The others were great, but they didn't really set a great standard of winning impressively or dominantly.

    Your joking, right ?

Whitaker & Jones were rarely losing rds at their peak... Chavez went 87-0 with only 1 very close fight vs Taylor in 1990... even Floyd has won 40/41 fights in decisive fashion..... if anything Manny is the most inconsistent fighter of the bunch.

Like I said, short memories, people are obsessed with Pac`s recent run simply because thats the here & now but no way was he as good as a guy like Whitaker at his peak.

I am talking about a guy like Leonard who fought them all and made a statement he was better. Jones ducked many guys and he was great, but he ducked guys and didn't show what a true champion was about. Whitaker was dominant, but didn't stop many guys and most of his fights went 12. Chavez was dominant but really started losing when he started to face the cream of the crop guys. Floyd doesn't fight the best and handpicks and makes up excuses why he doesn't fight top fighters. Where are the SRL type of fighters. That was my point. Manny comes closest by fighting the top guys like Oscar and Shane and wanting to fight Floyd.

Pac for me because i'm biased:lol:
    4 Lineal championships
Going 6-1 vs the mexican trio of Morales,Barrera, and Marquez
although the choice of opponents lately have been disappointing
    Still that is impressive enough

pernell whitaker has better skills and I would favour him h2h at 135 but pac accomplished a lot in boxing, they are closely ranked together in my opinion hence its between them.

I disagree with 90% of this post but to each their own.

Ps. what difference does it make that most of Whitaker`s fights went 12 ? :huh
If anything it shows just how high his skillset was, the fact that he schooled these guys in boxing without KO power, just pure boxing ability.
