Tyson vs. Foreman in 1992. I knew the style of George would be too much for Mike, although Mike is the greater fighter.

Actual fight: Rumble in the Jungle

Match that could have but didn't happen: Wlad vs. Lewis, or Vitali vs Lewis rematch

Time Machine fights: Vitali vs. Foreman, Wlad vs. Ali, or vice versa.

Wouldn't those fights, and perhaps a few others like them, settle the question, once and for all, how the Klits really stack up? I mean against the ATG's?

 

Watch Foreman-Stewart again. Old George took more horrible damage than he did against Moorer, his face was battered like it had been pounded by a meat tenderising hammer. Alex brought a brutal slugfest war to Old Foreman & only lost by a hair, because his weak chin & balls let him down twice in round 2. Tyson had a concrete chin & balls of steel, watch Tyson-Ruddock II. :!:

Tyson had a very good chin. Concrete chins belong to fighters like Hagler and McCullough.

One thing Tyson never had-balls of steel.

 

When did Hagler ever take a sustained beating? His chin was superhuman & amazing no doubt, but nobody even battered him accross the ring for sustained periods. Douglas, Holyfield & Lewis had to smash everything & the kitchen sink over an exhausted Tyson for round after round before they could stop him. Tyson also absorbed a tonne of monstrous bombs for 19 rounds of slugfest war from the heavy hitting Ruddock (of course he was supremely conditioned there so he didn't get gassed). His chin was never the problem.

Ok so you question the heart of Tyson? That's a different argument for a different place & it would proably be life talking to a brick wall, like everytime i write out a huge piece & the the blind do not see. Maybe you should realise i was talking about the way he ate monstrous lowblows in a brutal slugfest war like skittles against a big powerful puncher in Ruddock, whereas Stewart was ****ed by one from Old Foreman. It was a joke about how it wasn't just the chin of Stewart which let him down, it was his bollocks toughness too. Anyway, both Stewart & Savarese looked durable against Old George when they both gave him slugfest wars, check out how them two did against Tyson. :good

 

So, based on those two fights.....Tyson hit harder than Foreman?

 

No not just those 2 fights, but those 2 show a lot more than you think, since Tyson blasted them both out in a round like they were nothing, whereas Old George traded flush bombs back & forth with them for long wars.

I mean (non-shot) Tyson hit harder than Old Foreman, this is what i conclude from the extensive footage we have of both. :deal

Old Foreman was stronger than his younger self, but he was obviously less powerful per punch & often punched so very slow that his opponents had plenty of time to brace themselves for impact.

 

For my own interest : Vitali Klitschko vs. George Foreman , better if a 3-5 fights series to decide my #1.
For the arseheads in this forum it will be either David Tua vs. Sonny Liston , David Tua vs. Joe Louis , Wladimir Klitschko vs Muhammad Ali and George Foreman vs Ali in MSG in the winter .

 

Wish I'd been in Zaire for the Rumble. Not the most thrilling fight,technically,ut history was in the making.
