I'm no longer a fan of Bradley, this is a warrior sport and guys need to stop hiding behind the business aspect.

 

Sounds like Bradley is using his HEAD.

 

I suppose it could be considered a questionable tactic to reject a fight solely based on the possibility that a loss could threaten a more lucrative fight in the future but I think Bradley's managerial concerns could be a legitimate entropic factor too.

The thing is, IF you truly have reached a certain level of stardom, your paychecks are determined by YOU, not your opponent.

Obviously Tim isn't very known. He has no following. He just isn't a draw, live or PPV. That's his position. So he'd rather sit and wait or face an easier opponent then another top guy in his division to help establish himself as a true star.

And people are fine with this? WTF? :huh

 

Because in spite of his lack of drawing power, he's still going to be perhaps the most sought-after free agent this year and will most definitely wind up with a far better deal than he has now even without a Khan fight. Not wanting to **** that away a mere week before he can go on the market is a completely rational move in my opinion.

 

I am aware of his contract situation. And yes, he will be sought after by other promoters. Then what? They sign a fighter w/ no drawing power.

But it's no guarantee he'll become a bigger star in the sport. His last fight vs. Alexander was considered a major dud, and he doesn't get many KO's. NOt to mention, he has no charisma, which is a must. He's a huge work in progress if anyone thinks he'll be a big star. Personally, I don't see him being any bigger then a Winky Wright/Vern Forrest level fighter. He'll be good, but I don't even see him being a draw or in the position to command certain things.

One thing that bothers me, he tried this **** before signing to fight Devon Alexander. Said he didn't need him. Thankfully he did the right thing anyway.

Bradley is in his prime. He can sit and wait for Pac or May, but that doesn't mean then will come. He'll have wasted prime time waiting or feasting on scrubs so he doesn't lose. I personally just don't like that type of mentality.

 

I think we'll just have to see where he goes from here. I too am skeptical about his likelihood of becoming a major attraction in the sport simply because he has no home base and doesn't punch very hard. It just seems like despite their reconciliation, both Top Rank and Golden Boy are desperate to keep their big fights from 135-147 in-house and are willing to overpay to accomplish that.

I also definitely think Bradley made some major PR blunders by talking so tough in the immediate aftermath of the Alexander fight and by letting Shaw, Khan, and Golden Boy get out in front and portray him in a very poor light here; he should have been more forthcoming about the problems surrounding his situation. That being said, I am willing to let him slide on this one because I do think he was caught in a bad place with the timing of this fight and because I don't really think he's wasted much time in the past 2-3 years.

 

mayweather or pac would end this idiots career anyway, khan is actually a more winnable fight... if he's not confident of schooling khan he doesnt have a chance in hell against the top two p4p fighters. joke

 

Good points. :thumbsup Bradley has gotten a rep as a warrior. I hope he embraces it and doesn't sit on his duff too long waiting for money fights.
